    quo vadis Lands'End?

    I have been a customer for 18 years. Although I live in Europe, I enjoyed buying Lands' End products because I valued their quality. Now I wonder what happened. Where are you going, Lands' End? Towards H&M? The quality is no longer the same. Who came up with the idea of cutting corners on the quality of your flagship product? I have many pairs of Starfish trousers, but the ones I bought 3-4 years ago are definitely of better quality than the ones I just bought. I am very disappointed. Some time ago, I saw a lot of negative reviews, but I thought you were reading what your customers were writing about you and that the quality had improved. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

    Legs are very wide

    I was not happy at all with these pants. The fabric felt fine, lining is thin but helpful, pocket is smaller than on previous models. I will be returning them because they are not straight leg pants like any previous straight leg pants I've seen. The legs are voluminous from top to bottom and much more like wide leg pants. the width of these at the hemline is wider than the flared version that I bought last season.

    More sporty fit (think straight leg yoga pant)

    I tried 3 of the “sport fit” pants in the same size, looking for the best one. All were stretch cotton and black. This starfish pant has a lower wait line, 2-3 in below the belly button. It’s got more of an athletic cut, and hugs the hips. I’m 5”6 c~160. Small (6-8) was too tight for my liking.

    Attractive and comfortable

    I have recently discovered how comfortable these pants are, and purchased them in five colors. They look great and hold their shape. The only drawback is they have no pockets, like the new sweats have.

    Not straight leg

    Just received and they are not straight leg. They are wide leg so wondering just how wide the wide leg is! Like the midrise (PM) as I hate the feel of high waisted. The pant leg does pouch out at sides at the hip/high thigh giving a jodphur look. They are going back.

    Fits great but no pockets

    The Starfish midrise straight leg pants fit well and good quality. My only regret is it doesn't have any pockets! I would give these a 5 star if they had even one pocket!

    Disappointing

    I have bought these before and was excited to get them in the sale. However they are not the same quality and the leg length is shorter...in fact too short and won't be keeping.

    Really wierd fit! Different than previous pants.

    I bought two pairs, one in the charcoal gray and one in navy, size PM. They are sized NOTHING like the ones I already have. These are unwearable. They are huge in the butt and legs, and they flare out right under the waistband and down through the hip. They look like jodhpurs that are way too big. The rise is also way too low. I would get a thigh rash having the seams down there. The fit has changed so much and not for the better. I'm so disappointed because I love the colors, but these are going to charity - I don't want to ship them back, it's too expensive and not environmentally friendly. Hopefully there is someone out there who can wear them. No more Lands' End for me.

    No Pocket

    The pants are ok and comfortable, a step up from sweats. There are no pockets in the midrise pants, so probably won’t wear them much. I should have returned them for this reason and I should have closer attention to the description .

    So Comfortable & Nice Texture Material

    I’ve been “waiting all my life” for these most comfortable pants. The material feels so soft & is not clingy to my skin. I am apple shaped so elastic waistlines usually fit well. This elastic however would work for someone with a small waistline also. These pants are absolutely amazing & I super enjoy how comfortable they are.

    Very poor quality

    I have purchased these pants for the last 15 years in all colors and loved them through the years. In the last 2 months, I ordered more pants and the material is thin, flimsy and poorly made. My last good purchase was summer 2025 but by fall 2025, the material has changed and these pants have not held up to their prior high quality. I am very disappointed in Lands End.

    What happened to these???

    Starfish straight leg has been my go-to for about a decade. I needed to replace my worn gray pair, and ordered these in my usual 2X. Well, things have sure changed, and not for the better! The inseam on these measure 33" (not 30 1/2" as described), and the waist band is snug (and I've lost some weight since the last pair I ordered). I still like the fabric, with its high cotton content, and the style. But the fit is way off. Very disappointed.

    Beware if Petite

    I bought (and loved) Lands End clothing for years, but recently, I have noticed inconsistencies in quality and sizing. The Starfish Straight Leg pants have a nice thick fabric, but the 'rise' in the XS Petite I received is 2 inches shorter than what is listed in the Size Chart. That may not sound like much, but on a petite person, it is. Also, I had recently purchased their Sport Knit pants in an XS Petite, and it was too large all over, and the rise was 28 inches! I am becoming increasingly wary to purchase Lands Ends, especially since I am required to pay the return shipping even when I order based on their posted guidelines.
