Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Wedgies for Days

    I’ve always purchased Cat & Jack undies for my child since she was a toddler and always been happy with underwear they make but these underwear are a complete waste of money. My daughter absolutely hates wedgies. These underwear are always up her butt. She hates wearing them. They do fit true to size but after wearing for awhile during the day the legholes and fabric stretch out and this makes the underwear ride up. The other negative is that they become bunchy after wearing for awhile during the day. When not pulling her underwear out of her bum she has to push them down so that others cannot see her underpants which is not just frustrating but embarrassing for a 10 year old. I get wanting to give girls good coverage but there is a limit. I want my child to have good coverage but I don’t want so much that my kids underwear won’t stay below the top of her bottoms. Plus, no wedgies! No kid wants underwear up their butt all day. Do better!

    Sizing gaps for inbetween sizes

    Rating as a 4 because the size chart was confusing. My daughter is a size 5, but the size chart doesn’t indicate if that should fall within the 4 or 6 range for these and the packaging isn’t much better. There is a gap for kids between sizes/weights. Luckily I sized up so I guess we’ll just hold onto them for a while.
