I feel stupid
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel stupid for being excited about a charger but this one is very cool. I primarily use the 36v batteries for most things so they have a longer run time but this fast charger can fully charge one before the one I’m using runs down so there’s no waiting between swaps. I also feel stupid because I didn’t notice the USB charger until I picked up a second one. I charge my headphones, Bluetooth speaker, phone, or mobile battery pack with it nearly every day. When working at house with no power I was able to charge my phone from one of the tool batteries. It is the first thing I plug in when I start a new job.

Multi Volt battery
I purchased these batteries to replace same that seemingly died a premature death. The previously purchased batteries saw light use over a couple of years, within climate controlled conditions, and were never left discharged. I’ve purchased these replacements because I’m heavily invested in the Metabo HTP/ Hitachi system, with a multitude of cordless tools, including a table saw, belt sander, router, grinder, die grinder, 15 gauge trim nailer, 18 gauge trim nailers, 20 gauge stapler, framing nailer, and compressor, among others. As a result, my hope is for these batteries to carry me through to a point where Metabo HPT offers a version that corrects the premature failure problem. I love these tools, but the batteries are problematic. I’m confident in my assessment, as I have other batteries that have seen much greater use, under less ideal conditions, that are over 20 years old, and are still going strong. I’ll also add that I have corded Hitachi tools, purchased in the late eighties that perform flawlessly, and are still used regularly. These batteries are the first time I’ve been disappointed in this brand, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the problem will be corrected.

fast charging, long lasting batteries
Have had the multivolt battery charger and 4.0 Ah battery for a year or so, and they are fantastic. The batteries last a long time, deliver plenty of power, and they recharge quickly enough to keep your productivity high. The battery level indicators work well and are a nice touch by comparison with some of the 18V batteries. Having the USB charge port on the charger is a nice touch as well.

These batteries start to fail after two years
When I bought my 36v tools, drill, impact driver, circular saw and reciprocating saw, plus 4 lights, I took advantage of offers for additional batteries. I have 12 batteries and of the 12 only 3 still take a full charge and 2 have died. The rest only take a half charge. The tools are great but the batteries start going bad too quickly.

Have had two die in me in a year for no reason
I went solely Metabo a couple years ago and own many tools buying 36v tools if I can.. (air compressor, saws, drills , nailers, sawsol, I went all in Metabo.. I think only my nailers are 18v. Unfortunately two of my multi volt batteries won’t charge and just flashing two lights . In Canada it’s hard to warranty them as I don’t have the receipts.. super happy with the tools but worried about these batteries as they are well stored and cared for so should not be dying like this! Send me two batteries Metabo and we are good again!

Wicked battery with lots of power.
I use these batteries on all of my tools as long as it applies to where I’m working, I was cutting some 1 -1/2” solid steel pipe with my metabo sawsall and it cut threw like butter. So much power with these batteries. Metabo is my new setup at work now as I’ve switched over.

Get this for the charger alone.
This is the charger you want. This is the speed charger with an internal fan. Works for both 18 and 36 volt. I was able to charge 3 batteries in the time of one. 4 ah battery on normal charger.

Battery died after 3 months
Started off great. Charger works on the new battery and my old 18v batteries. Does a great job and charges fast. However, after 3 months, the new Lithium 18/36 battery is dead, won’t recharge and has the flashing green lights to indicate battery failure. Metabo has been reluctant to make things right.
