[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not vegan or have an issue with dairy, but I like to make sure I have food available for anyone regardless of dietary issues, so I was excited to try the Violife Foods Just Like Cheddar Shreds as an inclusive ingredient. This is NOT a cheese substitute and shouldn't be used like one. It's great as an ingredient or a garnish, but not as the star of a dish or as a snacking cheese. It's also not a "healthy" alternative based on the nutrition facts. It has a lot of saltiness and umamni flavor, so use it sparingly. It melted surprisingly well into a cheesy sauce (with other dairy cheeses), and also on its own in a quesadilla. There was a smidge of oil separation, but I still got a small cheese pull. Overall, this is an amazing, flavorful ingredient and I'm so glad that Violife is making these types of foods affordable and accessible for people that have dietary restrictions or preferences!

It is a good alternative if you are looking at removing dairy and overall it was priced well. I'll probably stick to regular cheese but this is a great option.

The coconut oil is an interesting ingredient. I did like that is wasn't coated in potato starch like most shredded cheese but it did clump a little because of that. The price point is higher than regular cheese.

The cheese does the trick for needing a bit of cheese flavor on tacos and such. It does not melt like I would like it to and have had better options. I still would rebuy.

I’m not a fan of the smell when you open the package, but that is a personal opinion. It’s not bad, just not what I like. The texture is great, feels like most other cheddar shreds that I use. Texture for eating is fine as well, feels the same. The packaging is nice; eye catching yet simple but also explanatory. Price is good for the type of product.
