I haven't eaten real cheese in 20 years so I can't really say how realistic it is, but its very reminiscent of what I do remember. It's mildly spicy, salty, and goes great with any sort of Mexican food. Also works well with pretty much anything you want cheese with.

I would definitely purchase again versus store brand! It simply tastes better and the resealable bag is another plus considering other brands have pouches that do not reseal not being able to maintain its freshness.

The flavor is mild but still gives me that cheesy vibe, especially once it melts. It melted pretty well without getting weird or rubbery like other cheeses. It was fresh and a bang for your buck.

It doesn’t smell strange, and it has a pleasant taste. It doesn’t have a pull like dairy cheese, but if you were a vegan or need to eat dairy free, this would be a very suitable sub. We substituted these shreds on tacos and it was fine.

Hard to find, but worth a try.

It melted and tasted like regular shredded cheese. It was also reasonably priced. We ended up using it on tacos, but will be trying it on loaded baked potatoes soon. I would use this product again if It becomes available near me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Violife cheese alternative definitely it's not for me, it smells like an real cheese, the flavor it's good but texture it's like slime or glue. For people that can't tolerate dairy maybe can be an option. Cheese is fresh and you need keep refrigerated like other cheese, package looks so attractive with all information about the product.

Not my favorite
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Forgot to take pic but used it in chicken enchiladas. Flavor was okay, wouldn’t buy again due to price. The texture was slightly rubbery, would be nice if it was finely shredded. The price was way too high for me and my family.

Great Taste
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Violife Foods Mexican Style Shreds were a pleasant surprise. Growing up in a house with a vegetarian and a vegan there was always a dairy cheese alternative. If I did not know the Violife shreds were not standard cheese I would not have known any different. The cheese tasted good with no after taste and served as a great childhood nostalgia, snack of chips and cheese. The cheese did melt, however it took a little longer than standard cheese, and I noticed that it had more of a creamy texture than your typical melting cheese. There was no cheese pull but it sure looked like it would. Overall the cheese tasted great left no aftertaste and is definitely a great option for taco night.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could see using this if you are not super picky and a vegan. The smell is strong and unlike cheese. The taste and smell are not as bad when melted and resembles the taste of cheese but sweet. However it is a bit stickier than natural cheese
