Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Great at first, but within a few months the true quality shows. They shrink, fade and the elastic is starting to feel rough. The Hanes brand we bought at the same time are still in great shape. We'll be skipping this brand until the quality gets better.

    Bad Drive Up sevise

    It's good, but the experience is not good. I chose Drive Up as usual, but this time I had to wait in the car for more than 30 minutes with my twin babies and was forced to get in.     Cat and Jack, not all children in the US are plus size

    As you can see from the picture, the white pair is from Hanes, the same size and style ( hipsters ). I initially bought the size 10 for my 10-year-old girl, but immediately returned for the size 8 as the size 10 looked more like a woman's size M. There is a huge difference in size between the 2 brands. I can't imagine a normal 8-year-old girl wearing such huge underwear. The size is almost the same as mine, which is a woman's size S. I am 5'7" and about 120 lbs, and I'm quite sure that Cat and Jack's size 8 would fit me. It's getting harder and harder for me to buy clothes for my girls, so I need to start shopping in the European stores from now on, as every time we travel to Europe, the sizing is always perfect. The fabric seems to be of good quality, but time will tell.

    Only brand I buy!

    I much prefer the design of Cat & Jack undies than the other main brand. They feel better and are more comfortable on my daughter. They don’t have the little rubber bands strings that eventually stretch and pop through. My daughter is about to outgrow this brand but she’s been wearing them for years and years. Solid product.

    Pros and cons of Cat and Jack underwear

    My daughter is 7 and these Cat and Jack hipster underwear were a good transition from her “little girl” underwear because I felt the bikini underwear didn’t provide as much bum coverage. Some of the underwear in the 10 pack had a pattern which was appreciated more than the solid ones in the pack. So the look and fit was great… unfortunately 2 of the 10 pack had a tiny hole after a couple of washes.

    Too Thin

    I ordered these to replace a different Cat & Jack style of underwear that seems to have been discontinued. Not even a full wear in and a pair has a hole in them. This did not happen with the previous style. I am disappointed and would not recommend this style of violet/blue/white pack.
