Okay beach hat
This hat is heavier than I expected and was large for my head. I’ve never really found hats too big, but this was. It’s ok for the beach and sitting still but not comfy to walk around in.

Fits my large-size head...and dare I say a bucket hat is cute?
Pros: -Really nicely made of substantial, double-layer cotton--has some heft to it so stays on without a chin strap, but not hot at all because it is very breathable and provides wonderful sun protection -Flip up brim when on the shady portion of my walk, then down for max protection in the sun -Cute, flattering style, with the contrast stripes (I don't say that readily about a bucket style) -Fits my large-ish head--I cannot wear 'one size fits all' hats for women or men--head circumference is about 22.7" and shape is oblong; this hat is even slightly loose and SO comfy -Excellent value Cons: -Not for the small-headed -If you want a featherweight hat, a nylon, polyester or linen-cotton mix might be preferable, though this is not a heavy hat, in fact, is lighter than all those "paper straw" hats outs there. Unexpectedly, my head feels cooler in this hat than in my very lightweight linen-cotton single layer hats (or my paper straw hat), possibly because of the double layer of cloth and its slightly loose fit I like this hat so much I've ordered a second one, in green and white.

Knock off Solbari hat
Pros: cotton fabric and cheap! Cons: not very structured, a little too big and way too deep. For me it would be impossible to wear this hat with the brim not turned up because I wouldn’t be able to see anything. The back of the brim also rests on my upper back and makes a lot of noise so would drive me crazy. Luckily the brim is very easy to shape and seems to stay in your preferred position. Online in the photos it looks kind of similar in shape to the much more expensive Solbari hat which I have looked at but never tried on. I wasn’t expecting much and wanted a cheap sun hat to keep in the car because I always forget to bring a hat and then wish I had one on sunny days, and for that purpose this hat is great, so I’m going to keep it.
