Flimsy carrier with no structural support
I really wanted to like and keep this carrier because of the dimensions (narrower than average for the length), but (1) it's very expensive (BurgeonNest sells the same style for $26, and it is 1" shorter, but 1" can make a big difference), (2) the top is all mesh, which is great for ventilation, (3) the bottom 6" all around is solid canvas instead of mesh, which I think could give pets a better sense of security, (4) it's lightweight, (5) the hardware is gold-toned metal - METAL! (it might be that plasticized amalgam metal, but they do feel heavier than painted plastic) vs that cheap, soft plastic so many pet carriers use, and (6) there's an adjustable shoulder strap that maybe could be worn crossbody when your one shoulder starts to feel tired. There are also snaps at the zipper closure, preventing agile escape artists from undoing the zipper. I would've preferred lockable zippers, however, as one of the snaps on mine is defective and doesn't snap together. So why the single star rating? (1) There's no structural frame, simple plastic or metal rods to hold the thing up. I thought that there would be something at least in the arched door panels on either end, but there isn't. Worse, there's no board on the bottom, so your pet will sink. There's the exterior canvas fabric and there's the interior tan-colored nylon lining the bottom. But there's ZERO SUPPORT. Not on the bottom, and not on the top. There are 3 rods that go lengthwise, but nothing anywhere else. The only way this could work is if you have sewing skills and buy some kind of board and rods and add them yourself. HOWEVER, this is supposed to be a finished product, not a DIY project at twice the cost of a regular pet carrier (can you believe this bag costs $70 elsewhere?!).
