Very sour in flavor. Thought I’d give it a shot but sour was not… expected. No thanks, and I’m not even a picky eater.

Added Protein from Protein Powder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Chad & Barney’s Sturdy Marinara Sauce in a sausage and peppers dinner. The taste was pretty similar to my usual organic tomato sauce and I rather enjoyed the extra protein that came from the added protein powder (per the ingredients list). That said, I don’t think that I would pay extra just to add a few scoops of protein powder, which I generally have on hand at home anyway. With that being the only difference in the ingredient list, while I enjoyed this, I’m not sure that I would go out of my way to use it again instead of my regular organic marinara sauce.

BITTER
I’m confused by the high reviews. It has, no joke, an AWFUL taste. Shook it and added it to basic noodles. The taste is crazy bitter. I actually spat it out an had my husband taste it just in case and he was appalled at how bitter it was

Delicious

Whey Taste changes when heated up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for testing purpose and my honest review. I waited til the last minute to try this . . First of you are whey sensitive this product is not for you. So if you drink whey in a smoothie it fine. I always find that once whey is heated the flavor of whey changes drastically that is the main reason I never used whey in cooking. I would not buy this product so this is my opinion if you are a die hard whey fan and don't mind the taste when you heat whey and want a boost of protein then try this sauce.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s not terrible but I wouldn’t buy it. It’s hard to put 80 grams of protein in something and it not taste different then what your use too. You can use it for a lot of things pasta, dip etc. it might be better with more ingredients other than spaghetti, which is what I made with it.

Just ok.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was ok. Its better than most canned/ bottled sauces. Doesn’t compare to home made. It had this sourness that my husband just couldn’t get past. My 5 year old and I thought it was ok. Hubby couldn’t finish his meal. I think it’s great that it’s packed with protein. Id give another flavor a try.

Good product

It has a rich , natural tomato flavor without being too acidic, and the seasoning is well balanced. The texture is thick , with makes it perfect for pasta, pizza or even as a dipping sauce. I also like that the ingredients are simple and the sauce doesn’t taste watery.

Protein powered sauce
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sauce is great if you are watching protein or added sugar. I tried it as is, heated up as a dip for my lunch pepperoni roll. I liked the slightly chunky texture. I could taste the herbs in the sauce, but also found it a bit acidic or tart, or maybe sour would be the way to describe it. it didn’t taste like protein powder, but I guess I definitely am used to a sweeter sauce. So I think this might be perfect for people who chafe sweet sauces! It definitely wasn’t bad, and I could think of ways to make it more to my preferred taste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sauce is a great choice if you are looking for a protein rich sauce that is bold and thick. My husband absolutely loved it. I prefer sweet sauces so it wasn’t really my thing. It does taste great for being so high in protein. The sauce is flavorful and seasoned well. It is very thick and fairly salty. I like salty but not everyone does. Definitely worth checking out.

Packed with protein and flavorful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its a nice consistency for a jar sauce. The flavor is very good and not overpowered on the spices which I like. It’s not sweet and doesn’t have a fake taste they use carrots in the recipe. I love that it is packed with protein and so easy to use, just heat and eat. My husband who is a sauce critic said it was very good.

Bad after taste
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sauce was okay but it left a bad after taste. The texture was too texture to my liking. I won’t be recommending this brand of sauce in the future to be used.
