Purdy Ox-O-Thin 2-1/2 in. Extra Soft Flat Trim Paint Brush

Do not buy this unless you are OK with picking hairs out of your paint every 2 minutes. I thought this would be a premium brush, but it's useless. It's a shame Purdy's quality has gone down hill so far, I used to really love their brushes. No more.

Paid a lot of money the best available brush for oil work and it sheds continuously! Been painting a lifetime and this is disappointing from a solid company.

Bought this brush as a recommendation from a paint store to apply a finish to my new mahogany door. Spend more time picking up the hair it looses than actually applying the product. Switched back to a regular brush. Save your money.

I bought this, and I would like to know the exact percentage of actual Ox-Hair bristle to the white china bristles used in this. I have emailed customer support at Purdy 2 weeks ago, and not received any reply from them.

Break these brushes in before using. I like to clean them first and grab some oil paint and aggressively brush it onto bare wood.

I have always purchased Purdy paint brushes and own many different types but this is my first Ox hair (OX-o-thin) as I wanted a brush for finishing a project with polyurethane and didn't want to use foam brushes as I have for smaller projects. After purchasing two ox-o brushes I combed them to get anything left during manufacturing as well as any possible lose bristle hairs and I was surprised at how many lost ones came out. After thinking I got all of them as combing no longer was removing loose bristle hairs, I started to use it. I found that as I used it, more bristle hairs were being left behind on my project in the poly causing me to stop,wipe to remove said bristle hair, recover that area with poly and move forwards. This wasn't a one time but happened many times causing me to have to inspect after completing an area before moving on to make sure no bristles were left behind. Highly disappointed in this brush and will not purchase again therefore I cannot recommend it. Sadly the cheap Chinese brushes are better.

Best oil brush I've ever used! 21 years in the biz and I will not use or trust another brush to do my oil with-period!

Love this brush I use it on steel doors alot real nice finish when it all done
