Description
The 120-hour* Ultrasonic Warm and Cool Mist Humidifier guards against problems caused by dry air in the home. It features an easy to fill large 2 gallon tank, ideal for use in large rooms. Unlike other humidifiers that grow slimy mold on the water tank surface, Silver Clean™ Protection is embedded in the tank to fight the growth of mold and mildew on the surface of the water tank. Thanks to ultrasonic technology, it disperses a fine warm or cool mist into the air, which can be extended using the wands. It is ultra-quiet making it ideal to have on while you sleep. Smart mist sensor monitors the level of humidity in the room and adjusts to your selected level. The humidifier is equipped with an easy to use digital display, a night light, timer and 3 speed mist control. A low water indicator light lets you know when it's time to refill the water tank. PureGuardian® humidifiers create a better home environment for those suffering from colds, allergies and dry skin. Note: Run time is based off of running the unit on low setting and cool mist, also depends on atmospheric conditions.

Great humidifier

I have had this humidifier for about a year and am completely satisfied. I used to get static shocks everywhere, but no more. My wood walls, floors and ceiling love it too - less stress on the wood from lack of humidity.
Not too bad

I like the unit and I’m happy with the price. I don’t think it offers a huge difference between the smaller models. But still it is better. The pole does help distribute the mist in the room. However the cool tech part with humidity sensing doesn’t seem very accurate so it seems unhelpful. But all in all it’s still better than all our other humidifiers.
good for heavy duty use.

This is my 4th one. I use it because of the nice long stovepipe.
First one leaked badly, replaced it.
Second one was fine.
Third one leaked every now and then. I put up with it. Cannot find the leak.
Fourth one just purchased...have not tried it yet.

The humidifier is fabulous...just one thing I would like to see changed...
The blue light that is sooooo bold it lights up one side of our bedroom and the other rooms at night. If there could be an auto dimmer for dark room and it would adjust as the room gets lighter, that would really be an improvement and helpful to my eyes!
Otherwise, love the humidifier, do NOT like the filters, as they give off a terrible scent, like dead fish...
Need something to help with the calcium landing on furniture...

Works as advertised, but water

Works as advertised, but water leaks all over the floor when the container is removed. Have to wrap it in a towel. Otherwise, the unit works well. The display is very small and not well illuminated, making it more difficult to identify the icons.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to it creating white dust. Otherwise, I have not had nose bleeds this winter and I use the warm mist. I'm glad it has that option.
Seems to be working fine.

This is a tolerably good-looking machine that does the job well. The humidistat is a nice feature which I imagine will be more useful when winter passes, and my apartment actually breaks 50% humidity on a regular basis. The tank is a little drippy when you go to refill it (a problem that should be designed out in the future. The plastic lips meant to keep the tank settled in place serve as drip edges). The wand is really just a plastic pipe. It looks and feels a bit cheap. Room for improvement there. As with any ultrasonic humidifier, there's a dull whine while running that can get a little annoying, and there is a little alkaline buildup. Nothing out of the ordinary.
My other humidifier is a BoneCo (formerly Air-O-Swiss) evaporator/air washer. That machine puts out more humidity and is easier to fill (I use a watering can), but is much more prone to mold growth. I love that machine, but I think it says a lot that I'm considering replacing it with another of these from Guardian.

Great size and it does the job of a large unit but does not take a lot of physical space. The directional wand is wonderful for directing the mist exactly where it is needed.

I love our new Humidifier! I love that it can be warm or cool mist, tells the humidity level in the room, and can be set to custom levels. I am so happy with this product!

I bought one of these for my guitar room, as I have expensive guitars that I like to keep out to play. Keeping the humidity at 45-50% is essential for these instruments. Too high or too low humidity can easily ruin them. I bought this unit because it says it can run for 120 hrs (on lowest setting), and can humidify a room up to 700 sq ft. Being that I am often gone all week, and the room I have is under 150 sq ft, I thought this would be perfect. Nope. Even in such a small room, at the lowest setting it only gets the humidity to between 36-40% - which is not only not good enough, it's only about 2% higher than if I didn't run it at all. Also, even on the lowest setting (with a full tank), it only lasted about 78 hrs - far short of the described 120, and far less than I needed it for. At the setting that keeps the humidity in the range I need, it lasts maybe 36 hrs. Again, this is a 10'x12' room! Bottom line, this unit doesn't do what it is described as being capable of, and is essentially useless to me.

I am very pleased with my purchase. It keeps the humidity at the level I want (around 50%). Actual time before filling is a little over 24 hours, not the advertised 120 hours. But it works very well for our kitchen/family room area. When refilling, you need to hold it over the base until dripping stops in order to avoid drips on the floor; but that's not a problem. The only problem I have is in tightening the lid enough so it doesn't leak; I have to enlist my husband for that! Same thing for loosening it to refill. Overall, it is working great and keeping the humidity at proper level. As far as the settings, once you figure out what you want it's easy. I turn it on (first button), use the humidity setting (next to last button) to set at 50%, then use the 2nd button 3 times to remove the heat and nightlight.

This has never gotten my 200 sq ft bedroom humidity past 35% and it’s usually around 25%. It gets slimy fast and there are all sorts of nooks and crannies to scrub. And there are way too many buttons for not very useful features. Good looking junk.
Bad For A Forced Air Furnace

Do NOT purchase this if you have a forced air heating/cooling system. Had two service calls to the house because air would not circulate properly (in the winter when it was below zero no less). On the second call, the technician asked if we'd purchased a humidifier recently and I pointed to this unit. He then showed me the furnace filter and the fact that it was solid white. Looked clean but when held up to the light you could not see through it. The technician explained that these units create a white "dust" (it's almost like sugar) that ends up everywhere but worst of all, clogs up furnance filters and can destroy the furnace blower motor if you do not resolve the issue quickly. Returning this one before it does any more damage.

This is absolutely not easy to fill and I've almost dropped it every time I put it back together after refilling it. And I don't like how the blue light is so bright, not the night light, but the part that shows the humidity level, that I have to cover it up at night. Returned and not at all worth the price.
