Mediocre braiding gel. Hard pass!
Not a big fan of this braiding gel unfortunately… I’ve only used this one and “So-So-Slick” for my braids, and if I compare the two I definitely wouldn’t pick the PureO one again (even though I’m looking for braiding gels with less ingredients). First it definitely leaves some type of white-ish cast instead of melting into the hair, but that’s only if you use too much. Second the build up and flaking is CRAZY! Third it doesn’t have that many conditioning ingredients. Fourth it definitely has fragrance even though it’s advertised as fragrance-free. Fifth the hold is weak, within a week my sections were looking rough and my braids were fraying. It worked okay for styling my edges, but nonetheless I’m not a fan which really bummed me out bcs I wanted to love it! I’ll keep on searching for a better braiding gel…

I can’t believe this. I follow this gym girl and she said this is what she uses to slick her hair down at the gym. Didn’t think much, didn’t run out to purchase. A month later I see this on TikTok so I thought why not. WOW. Wet your hair, melt some in your hand , brush it through, and add more and BAM! Minor reverting, no cast, hair didn’t melt and I’m in Los Angeles, and it leaves it so soft. It’s pretty crazy. Makes the texture of my hair look 3c from where I applied the product.

It didnt even last 20 minutes on my head
When I say this GEL SUCKS I MEAN IT I used it for my braids and my edges I HAD grease all over my forehead The gel melts after 20 minutes of having it on And it Super Oily The first 10 minutes it’s slick till u walk out the house and your edges are PUFFY do not get this gel PLS

No White Residue Gel!
Usually, I have a white residue from most hair products, especially gel. This is probably the first I've used that does NOT leave the white residue. Also, my two braids seem to stay in long with this gel. It's like it sets in better when I go to bed. I can't wait to use this with my twist and knotless braids.

Great for sensitive skin!
I love this product. I first started using it last year. I asked my hairstylist to use it for my knotless. Usually less than a week my scalp starts itching really bad. I haven’t experienced any bad reactions using this gel. I will say, if you are using it for braids, just try not to put Too much on your scalp. It has a really good hold to it. Glad to see it available in Target.

Megahold forsure
Products nowadays say mega hold or max hold, but this right here is the one. You can use it to lay your edges too. The consistency is thick and not greasy, it slicked my hair down and kept it in place. I'm in the middle of doing my box braids right now and had to stop and write a review. I will definitely use it to do a low bun as well. Just for reference I have 4c/b pattern and high porosity hair.

Wow, I was looking for a product that would hold my hair in place when doing twistouts without it being greasy or hard feeling. Ive been searching through different kinds of hair wax, which was a waste. But this gel has the perfect amount of hold, once it dries down it isn't sticky. I am obsessed currently.
