We used to love this oatmeal so much and would eat some almost every day but when you released the new recipe or whatever we can’t stand it it tastes rotten and like sewer water now and it makes us so sad because the old recipe was so good and used to be our favorite and we miss it so much!

For crunchier, more well-defined dinosaurs

5 out of 5 stars

So, this is a mainstay here in our house. It's quick, it's easy, and as a Dad dashing off to work, I can make my kids breakfast on the run. The thing is, if you're like me, you develop a more complicated process for cooking something easy, and then it starts taking longer. For crunchier, more well-defined dinosaurs, try this new and educational preparation method: Step 1: Wash your hands and that of your child before getting started. You and your child will be touching the oatmeal/eggs. Step 2: Open the packet and pour the contents into a bowl. Step 3: Let your child search the oatmeal for all the eggs and place them on the table. Step 4: Add water or milk to the oatmeal. (The eggs should remain on the table.) Step 5: Microwave the oatmeal for about 90 seconds (cooking times may vary). Step 6: While the oatmeal is cooking, count the eggs with your child. Sort them by size. Group them by color. Name the colors in English and any other languages you might know. You only have 90 seconds, so you can switch it up each day. Step 7: When the oatmeal is finished cooking, allow your child to put the eggs back into the hot bowl of oatmeal. My toddler likes to do it one by one. Watch out! The bowl and contents are hot! Step 8: Using a spoon, allow your child to carefully stir the eggs back into the oatmeal, watching the dinosaurs hatch as their shells melt. Name off the dinosaurs with your child. Look, there's a stegosaurus! Step 9: After the dinosaurs are thoroughly hatched, add a splash of milk to loosen up the oatmeal and cool it off a little. (I actually add too much milk, and then using a strainer, remove the excess milk. This cools the oatmeal immediately so my carnivorous toddler can begin eating the oatmeal without needing to wait for it to cool. Otherwise, stick the bowl in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to speed up the cooling time.) Step 10: After the oatmeal has cooled, dig in and enjoy! WARNING: If you use this method without informing your partner, a young child may refuse to eat the oatmeal when it is prepared using the outdated and boring, 3-step process. So tell your partner! (I initially did not tell my wife and she was perplexed when my daughter refused to eat but instead wanted to make another packet of dinosaur oatmeal.) Please leave me a comment if you try this. I'd love to think that someone out there is spending a few extra minutes with their child each morning. Enjoy!

Soooo disappointed with the new recipe!

My daughter LOVED this dinosaur oatmeal, but with this new recipe she now won't touch it. The flavor is off, the dinosaurs taste awful, and the texture is all wrong. She didn't like how much more soupy it was, and the taste made her cry. We had to throw it away! PLEASE bring back the old recipe!!!

Incomparable to any other oatmeal on the market!

What else can I say, this is hands down THE BEST oatmeal on the market. Dinosaur eggs are quite possibly the apex of the Quaker brand and even quite possibly the peak achievement from any product from their parent company, PepsiCo. If I had to pick one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it would undoubtedly be Dinosaur eggs. The thrill of watching the eggs hatching is a timeless experience that only gets better the more times it is witnessed. I can not advocate enough for every human living on this planet to indulge in the perpetual ageless process that is Dinosaur Eggs Oatmeal. Can not comprehend what I would do if this product was ever to be taken off the market. The fact that this product is averaging 3.9 stars is an absolute tragedy, a definitive crime against mankind. To let Adventure Animals achieve a 4.4 is a complete disrespect to the legacy and foundation that Dinosaur Eggs laid. Would give higher than 5 stars if possible.

We have trying the Quaker oats instant oatmeal dinosaur eggs Brown sugar. My boys were very excited to try this because of the dinosaur eggs and dinosaurs that were supposed to be inside of the oatmeal. Maybe you could put the eggs and dinosaurs in a small bag to be added after cooking. The oatmeal was still tasty.
