Q: I read the label, but just to make sure, this product DOES NOT have any fish oil or fish products in it?
submitted by MLT - 3 months ago
A: Thank you for reaching out! Fish and Fish Oil are not added ingredients in Rachael Ray® Nutrish® Turkey, Brown Rice & Venison Recipe. However, due to the complex supply chain for the ingredients used within our products, we suggest that there is a possibility of cross-contact with fish/fish oil, as we cannot completely rule out that the ingredients would never have contact with these allergens. We suggest working with your veterinarian to determine if this recipe is suitable for your pet given the sensitivity.

We are sorry to hear that your dog did not care for our Nutrish Turkey Brown Rice & Venison Recipe. While this is not the reaction we'd expect, dogs can be picky eaters, just like people! Sometimes, they just need a little time to get used to the food or you can try mixing a small amount of the new food in with the old food to start out, and then gradually increase the amount of the new food. With that said, we have reached out to you via email to learn more. Hope to connect soon!

I would think being in the dog food business that you would know that chicken is the number one allergy that dogs have. You would think that the dog food industry in whole would know this. Dog owners everywhere are constantly in search for a dog food that does not have chicken or chicken biproducts added to it. It is discouraging when you find a food that meets all the requirements for their pets and a company blindsides them with adding it in to satisfy an agency that obviously does not care about the well being of the animal. Explain to all of us that struggle with dog allergies how adding chicken and chicken biproducts add any additional health or nutritional value to a formula that already has a poultry in it. I will be very disappointed if I get the same generic, non thought out response that has been put on other reviews. I am sure people reading the response will be disappointed to knowing if that happens, you just don’t care.

We have been pleased with this dog food until I noticed my dog having issues again, recently. I decided to read read the ingredients again, and I noticed Chicken . Now , I know why he is having problems. Why must all dog food have Chicken of some sort in it? Can you not take it out and add something else for nutritional factors? My review would have been a 10 now it is a 5 because of Chicken.

Well, I have purchased this weight management food several times and it has helped my toy poodles loose and maintain their weight but I noticed that this latest bag has caused both of my toy poodles to vomit excessively and my one poodle just doesn't seem to like it anymore. So, I just checked out the nutrish website and it lists chicken meal and whole ground corn. The 2 ingredients that my girls are allergic to. They should have had this in BIG BOLD LETTERS on the front of the bag to warn consumers. It seems that they have added corn meal to almost every product so make sure you go to their web site and read the whole list of ingredients before each purchase since the change the formula's and label it "New Look". I guess this is another brand of dog food I can't trust. Back to the drawing board to find a new one.

We are truly sorry to hear that this recipe no longer works well for your dogs and we empathize with the experience your pets have had. Turkey, Brown Rice & Venison Recipe was reformulated in 2021 and has not been changed since. This update included the addition of Chicken Meal and Taurine, along with minor updates to the vitamins and minerals to maintain a complete nutrition profile for generally healthy dogs. Please know that reformulations like this are absolutely integral to ensuring our recipes always meet or exceed all current AAFCO Guidelines in order to provide pets with recipes that are 100% nutritionally complete. As we take consumer feedback seriously and would like to collect more information for our teams, we will be reaching out via email to best assist further.

Hopefully RR Nutrish Real Turkey, Brown Rice and Version Recipe will be right choice. My dog has severe skin allergies along with yeast infection. I’m looking for a good quality dog food to help balance gut health. My only concern is…. Why would ingredients include Chicken Meal and Whole Ground Corn? Also as im reading comments… change in recipe without making it public. I’ll continue my search. Was hoping RR was my answer. Especially with reasonable price.

We have been feeding our 4year old lab this food consistently. About a month ago she began having allergic reactions and we thought it was just something else she may have had. We eliminated all other foods and she has woken up this morning with another reaction. We have always been very happy with this product otherwise and understand there’s been a recent change in the formula. Hoping we can find another type in the brand that will work for her.

My dogs have been eating this for a couple of years and fantastic. My one has a confirmed chicken protein allergy. Then the formula change and chicken was added. So back to the drawing board. No longer feeding Nutrish foods at all. Very dissatisfied with the change in formula.

Turkey brown rice venison - 1 year ago
Several weeks ago we rescued a beautiful but malnourished husky mix two years old dog. Getting him to really eat has been challenging. I gave him some leftover Turkey after thanksgiving and he loved it. That sent me on a quest to find him a turkey based product. Can I say winner winner turkey dinner!! 👏🏼👏🏼 He's still not a voracious eater like past dogs we've loved but knowing that we have food he likes and is good for him makes us happy. Mahalo

Don’t feed this garbage to your dog. It made my dog violently sick - explosive vomit and diarrhea. She couldn’t even sleep through the night her poor stomach hurt so bad. Never buying Rachel Ray again - stick with Purina!!!

Priced reasonably on the low side for the size of bag you get. Not to mention that a certain percentage of your purchase is donated to animals in need. That right there ended up being my selling point for the food. Max enjoyed it look wise it looked appetizing. I would recommend it to others as well as buy it again in the future

Thanks for reaching out. While our Nutrish Turkey Brown Rice & Venison was recently reformulated, this is not the response we want from your dogs. Please know that, as always, our recipe does not contain artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, or filler ingredients. However, it now contains new ingredients including Chicken Meal and Taurine. Since this is a new recipe, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to the new product over a 5–7-day period, replacing 15-20% of the current diet with the new product each day until your pup is fully transitioned. If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of the new product fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals and increase over time. We greatly appreciate your loyalty to our brand and are disappointed to hear that your dog did not care for this new formula. We have reached out via email and hope to connect with you soon.
