Ravensburger Horrified: Dungeons & Dragons Cooperative Strategy Board Game

This fourth edition of the game plays much the same as the others. We really enjoyed the new challenges of these characters. Cooperative games are always welcome at family time. Fantastic theme what a fun game I own all of the horrified games and this is my top two favorite game

Great edition to the Horrified series and even better if you’re a Dungeons & Dragons fan. Game plays the same as all the others but you also add a D20 to roll. This die makes the game much more random as it’s harder to plan out your moves. For example, your characters powers are determined by a roll of the die. 1 usually means nothing happens but you do get perk cards from time to time that can raise or lower your roll result. Still, nothing is certain. The board has a lot of portals that transport you to other portals across the board. The monsters can use them just like you do sometimes a monster looks far away from you, only to catch up quickly. Citizens cannot use the portals on their own nor can you use the guide action. You must take them through a portal. The monster’s conditions to defeat them seem pretty straight forward. I’ve understood most of what I read and haven’t needed an FAQ answer like some of the other past expansions. If you defeat a monster you can lower the terror level by one, I like that change. The game doesn’t say that 3 monsters are standard they only advise you to play the Displacer Beast and Beholder for your first game then any monster and the Dragon when you’re advanced. The dragon is done in two parts like Cthulhu’s conditions in the world of monsters game. I wouldn’t say the monsters are a bit easier to defeat but you have a more reasonable chance than in previous editions. There’s a few other differences but for the most part I enjoyed this edition.
