submitted byBreiter - 2 months agoA: The dispenser is plastic so it doesn't "rust" necessarily, but the chrome coating peels or wears away. It's the curse of the chrome paint coating over a plastic dispenser nozzle on any soap dispenser.

Q: I bought one of these for dish soap and it is aesthetically pleasing but soap leaks out from under the cap all over the dispenser and the counter. Is there a different cap that can be used?

A: I have this dispenser and the cap no longer closes. Very disappointing that the cap is not replaceable.

I bought two of these in store, so I didn't look at reviews. The pumps don't work. At all. There are other reviews going back years saying it doesn't work. So Target is fully aware this product is defective, yet they're still selling it.

Broke but found replacement pump!!
I loved this glass soap dispenser. After 2 years, the side of the silver pump cracked. I have been holding on to it for a couple of months. Today, I tried a Softsoap pump just to see if it would fit and it does!! I am so happy to have found this so that I can use it in my kitchen again. Hope this helps someone else since a lot of reviews have issues with that piece.

Looks nice, stops working
Looks great, but after some months, the pump simply stops working. I have bought a total of three, because I thought one was just a fluke and replaced it plus another, and sure enough, those two stopped working around the same time. Would not recommend.

100% recycled glass but with a plastic pump
I appreciate this refillable dispenser eliminates plastic waste, and is made from 100% recycled glass. I was refilling aluminum soap bottles but this allows me to see the of soap to add to before it is low. Last summer I discovered plastic-free soap refills that also eliminate water weight, in liquid powder concentrate, and it has worked well with this dispenser. It arrives securely boxed and wrapped in honeycomb packing paper wrap. However, I don't love this dispenser as much as I thought I would, because the pump is made of plastic, and doesn't want to screw on straight. It stays on and is usable, but should be more secure.

Ok, but the pump is the weak spot.
The glass component is great and I’ve had this dispenser for at least three years now, however the pump component is all plastic and began to look significantly worn after 1-2 years. It still works fine so I’ll keep it around and not spend any more if it isn’t broken, but if I were looking to buy again I would pay more for a pump that was higher quality that would look good for longer.

worked fine - didn’t have issues with leaking like others did after almost 2 years. you just have to make sure it’s screwed on properly. only thing is - finish chipped off the pump. i’d say good for if you like to see the level of soap you have & want a large dispenser - this thing lasted months before refills. for $10, eh!

Ordered online. The top doesn't even go on it. Thinking maybe they sent the wrong pump, but looks like pic. Pump threads diameter are too big for threads on bottle. No wonder everyone is saying the soap squirts out & leaks.
