I’ve had two of these dispensers for about a year and they work great! I use them with branch basics foaming soap. The trick is to not use too high a soap to water ratio and definitely don’t add any oils to your soap or it will clog the pump mechanism. Each time I refill, I wash and clean out the pump with hot water and that removes any buildup that can cause it to not spring back up. My dispensers look like new. I suspect those that have paint coming off are using harsh cleaners on them. I just wipe with a wet washcloth and they clean just fine.

Love the style and foaming quality but doesn’t work long term. I’ve had mine for about 6 months and the gold has not tarnished but the foaming mechanism did stop working. I did find a fix though! The inside pump part can be replaced with any foam store bought or bath and body works foam pump. It’s tough to separate but can be done and reattached to the original parts.

I have bought three of these soap dispensers in the last six months. I will not buy another. The nozzle piece has broken off of two of the three I have purchased. It's a shame because the design is very pretty. After throwing out the broken top (I was not able to glue it back on), I re-used one of the glass bottles as a little flower vase. It's too bad I don't need three little vases, what I needed was a functioning soap dispenser.

Soap dispenser worked for me for 6 months before the pump stopped working. I use foaming soap in the bottle so it wasn’t that. It just stopped being fluffy and just came out super watery and the pump no longer goes all the way up when you pump soap into your hand. Overall I loved it when it worked it was really cute and simple to use.

I have bought two of these dispensers, and like other reviewers have mentioned, the spout broke. The spout broke off of both dispensers within a few months. They are very attractive but very poorly made.
