Q: Can it be stored upright like in a closet?

A: Hi Kirk, Thanks for reaching out. For this model of treadmill, we don't suggest to store vertically in safety considerations, it is unstable when standing upright and may fall down. Also the switch on the head may also be crushed.

Q: Can you walk on this (under 4.0mph) when the guardrails are up or does that automatically put it into running mode?

You can use carpet or rubber pad or treadmill mat or just put the treadmill on the floor as long as make sure the treadmill can dissipate heat properly, for example: the feather of the carpet does not pass through the heat dissipation holes under the treadmill, and the treadmill is kept at a certain distance from the ground to ensure normal heat dissipation.

The interaction between the running belt and the running board significantly impacts the product's service life and performance. To ensure optimal maintenance, it is recommended to lubricate every 3 months or after 100 miles of use, using a volume of 10ml of lubrication oil per maintenance session. Thanks.

Description issues
The description says it has 12 preset workout programs. It does not. According to the model number , it should have. I feel like I paid for a better model than what I received. Target site does not show which model number to compare it to the model number I received.

I love this treadmill

Money well spent!
I got this to put in my classroom so I could run during my planning period. I love that it goes up to 7.5 and I am able to do sprint intervals. It is so compact that I can easily store it under a table in the back of my class. Money well spent!
