I have a 14 month old who has been getting into the cabinets. We used these on the kitchen cabinets. They were easy to install and the design is easy so that it's not too inconvenient for adults to open. The strength of the adhesive however doesn't seem to be that strong. After a few attempts from my son to open the cabinet doors, it pulled off. I wouldn't use again or recommend to anyone else. As a mother of two under 2, I was looking for a latch to keep my toddler out of the mini fridge in my room. The mini fridge contains all the pumped milk for my baby and I didn't need to stress over having to dump all the milk if it went bad because my toddler managed to leave the fridge door open. I'm happy to report that this latch exceeded expectations. The application process was easy, peel off the backing on the ends and stick them onto the appliance. I was surprised to see how my husband almost pulled the whole mini fridge over when attempting to open the latched door. I will admit that it will take some getting used to opening the latch. This Multi-Latch child lock that I received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel came just in time as my little one started constantly opening our dishwasher. It installed very easily and stuck well to the cabinet and dishwasher with a bit of pressure. It has stayed in place so far and my child has been unable to open the dishwasher. The strap and latch design makes it easy to undo really quick and there have been times I have left it unlatched for awhile and it does not get in the way when not attached. My one complaint is that it is for very specific appliances and would not work on a side by side refrigerator for example.

I was given this baby proofing item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. When I received the item I was hesitant of it's strength and durability. My two year old has a lot of strength when he pulls on things, and I wasn't sure if this latch would hold tight. The two year old has met his match! I've installed it at the top of our fridge where he doesn't even see it. In desperation over the holidays I used our dog's collar wrapped around the fridge handles to keep my son from demolishing our berries and drinking milk from the carton like he is a teenager. This latch is a game changer. It's slim enough that if we don't need to use it then it blends in with the fridge. When we need to use the latch, it is at the top of the fridge and I can slide and click the latch into place. My son has yet to break through! I like that it is black and shiny which matches the fridge. It does pick up finger prints and grime pretty quickly, but it is easy to wipe clean. With two pieces of sticky paper to remove before applying to the fridge, it was very easy to install. The design is sleek and unobtrusive- almost a little too unobtrusive. When you press down to release the latch it is more difficult than other latches I've used in the past. If anyone else I know is needing a toddler-proof latch for a fridge or any other sleek black appliance then I would recommend this product. I've yet to find anything else that I was willing to put onto the fridge. If someone with less dexterity or mobility was looking for a latch, I would not recommend it because it does feel stiff.

I used this product on the refrigerator and trash can lid. This product started out great until we ran into some problems within our family. A lot of the problems we ran into was due to preference. My husband would get irritated with having to unlock it to get into the refrigerator. The product itself was great and did what it was meant to do just ran into a few bumps. I would definitely recommend this product to other but just warn them about if it fits their needs and family.

My baby's safety is one of the most important things to me. Even though we are constantly supervising her, she reaches out to everything and it is difficult to stop her from grabbing some things. That's why I decided to place a latch next to the piece of furniture she has next to her playpen and prevent her from picking up something she shouldn't or could hurt herself. I also thought it was important to place another one in the toilet because I have heard that children are interested in playing with water. Although my baby is 7 months old and does not yet have the skills to open such a system, I find the closure system sturdy for a slightly older child and easy to open for an adult. It is super easy to install and remove. You just have to remove the protectors from the two adhesives that it comes with and place it wherever you want. I had initially placed it on the fridge but decided to move it to the toilet and was able to move it without damaging it. Although the glue is very strong, with patience it can be removed to reuse elsewhere. I think it is a good system to prevent children from accessing furniture that we do not want them to open. I find it a robust and elegant design. The strip is made of a flexible material so it would not damage the furniture if the child tried to open it. I have a friend who is going to have a baby and I have recommended them to her because I think it is something necessary when you have babies at home. It is also important for me to have a reference before buying a product and that is why I always read the reviews before buying. As my 6 month old gets older and starts grabbing at everything around him, I worry about him starting to pull open drawers. Fortunately I was given this baby proofing item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The product included 2 multi-purpose appliance locks with a few easy to understand instructions which I read before installation. It also included a QR code which leads you to product registration and suggestions for additional safety products. The major pro to this product is that the lock is sturdy and will not allow my son to pull open the drawer on which I installed it. It took less than a minute to put the locks in place and they stick immediately. I noticed several cons, however, including: 1. This lock only works for items of a particular shape. Initially I wanted to install it on a closet drawer in his playroom that swings outward from the center and this latch is not made for that type of drawer. 2. This is more difficult than expected for an adult to unlock and requires a good amount of force or 2 hands to open. I would not use this latch on my fridge for that reason. 3. Locking it back into place from the open position makes a loud snapping noise. 4. Frankly, this product is not aesthetically pleasing. Overall, the safety lock does its job well but I would look for something else for my remaining drawers/appliances and would not recommend to friends.

The latch was easy to put on any smooth surface. However the click part was difficult to take off when I need to access the cabinet or doors if it was not on the corner. It was very bulky looking and not very subtle. For these reasons I would not recommend this latch.

Upon first opening this lock, it seems a bit flimsy (the lock itself and the strap are plastic) and I was weary of the adhesive that holds it in place. I must say, I'm actually surprised it's held up through daily use. I put this on my freezer because my toddler is constantly slamming the fridge shut and the freezer pops open but he's too short to close it. I've forgotten the lock is there (even though it's a black strap on my white fridge!) and even with me yanking on it, it stayed in place! I did wipe the placements on my fridge with rubbing alcohol prior to sticking the lock on and I think it might've helped, but installation was extremely easy. I do recommend this product for anybody trying to keep their tots out of something

This latch has been a life saver since my toddler recently learned to open our fridge. I often find many baby proofing products more of a nuisance because you have to fumble with the locking and unlocking, but this lock is simple and effective. The installation is super easy, and it's nice that it is not a permanent alteration. Being able to remove the latch without damage to the appliance is a must for us as we rent our house. I am so happy I received this baby-proofing item from the Stellar Product Testing Panel! My 13-month-old has recently discovered his fascination with the warming drawer. Trying to protect his little fingers, I used tape to keep it shut. However, he's too clever and rips it off almost every day. This latch was SO easy to install. The two-tone matches the stove perfectly. Most importantly, it keeps my son's fingers safe as he cannot unlatch it. It's not difficult for adults to unlatch. I highly recommend this easy-to-use safety latch!

In testing this baby-proofing latch, I found that the adhesive did not stick at all on my wooden bathroom cabinets, but worked great on my stainless steel refrigerator and metal washing machine. The latch was incredibly easy to install, with 2 adhesive areas. I didn't see it mentioned in the directions, but it seems that the adhesive needs some time to stick firmly to an appliance. The good news there is if you don't like the location of the latch, you have some time to adjust. After 30m of leaving it alone, it was stuck really well on my washing machine. I couldn't get the door open, so my 17 month old shouldn't be able to either. Which is the point! I removed the latch from my washing machine after 3 hours, and didn't see any leftover glue or concerning reaction. Overall, I think this is a great product for certain surfaces!

I received this as part of the stellar product testing panel. Functionally the latches worked as they should. Unfortunately, they were largr than I expected and I didn't like how noticable they were on our fridge. We have a stainless steel fridge and the black just stood out like a sore thumb. If you need a latch these will definitely work but not the most aesthetically pleasing.

We have a mini fridge in our enclosed patio-turned-playroom that seems to be irresistible to little hands - the perfect job for these appliance locks! The locks are incredibly easy to install and use. The design is simple - the side with the latch attaches to the door, the other to the side of the appliance, securely preventing the door from being opened when engaged. You can access installation instructions via a QR code printed on the side of the packaging, which I thought was a nice touch. Installation is very intuitive, and even with reviewing the instructions took much less than a minute. Simply peel the backing off of the two adhesive anchor points and press onto the appliance surface. After waiting the advised 24-hour period post-installation, I tugged, pulled, and yanked on the appliance door to check the strength of the lock. No budging! Unlike some child-proofing gadgets, this lock is easy to open and close as well, minimizing the chance that an adult would fail to resecure a potential safety hazard out of frustration. The product's guide provides instructions for easy removal with the promise of no damage to the appliance. I have no yet tested removal, as I am happy to have the extra safeguard at this time! I would give it a 10/10 and may even see that a few packages make their way to the grandparents' house…

I got this free from Stellar Product Testing Panel just in time to start baby proofing. This is a must have for the freezer drawer and really easy to install. The latch is just slightly difficult to operate, but this is probably different for each person. Ever since I had my kid, my bones seem to be weaker and that includes my fingers. So sometimes the latch is hard to get undone.

As a mother to a one-year old attempting to get into every cabinet and drawer in sight, getting baby proofing items was on my to-do list. I was given this baby proofing item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am using this lock to keep a drawer closed on our TV stand. The lock is made of a thick, flexible black plastic, with two plastic, grey end pieces. I wish this came in other colors, so it would not stand out so much against my light cabinet. The lock is very easy to install by peeling the covering off two stickers, one on each grey end piece. You simply press and hold to adhere the lock to your cabinet. One of the ends houses the locking attachment. The lock is a buckle style lock. While it can be operated with one hand (a very important feature for parents whose hands are always full), the buckle style lock is a little difficult to operate. You have to press very firmly to get the buckle to release. I would prefer a lock that is much easier to release with one hand. I even had trouble opening the lock with two hands at times. This won't be my first choice for a baby proofing lock for drawers, but it is certainly effective at keeping my son out of the drawer. I would like to try other options before recommending this to any family or friends.

I'm happy I was given this baby proofing item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have always wanted to try one since I had my first baby 3 years ago. When I started to baby proof for her I never thought about the dishwasher. Until recently when she opened it to "help mommy" and I saw a very sharp knife in there. My 3 year old has always been a great child but you never know with kids, so these latches were a great gift to receive. I also have a new baby who is starting to crawl I now have to worry about. They were very easy to install, no need for drills or screwdrivers. Just clean the areas, peel the sticker, place and hold for a bit. The latch works well and is easy to figure out for adults. My 3 year old saw it one day and tried to open it but could not. It is doing its job really well! She was not so happy though. I originally wanted these for my refrigerator but the way my fridge is I realized it would be way too noticeable. Also, I was afraid it would mess it up because it's new, so the dishwasher was the only one I placed. So far it is working but the sticky part I am not sure how long it will last honestly. But maybe it will surpass my expectations on longitivtiy. Although it was easy to install it was kind of hard for the area I wanted it for. You'll see in the pic that I had to keep it straight and getting it to place evenly across was kind of tough. I was able to figure it out but maybe think about how long it is if you have tight areas. This was the only reasons for 4 stars. Overall I think it's a great product and I am happy I was able to try it out! So far I would recommend this latch for keeping toddler and babies out of appliances.

As a mom of two very curious kids (1 and 3 years old), I am always looking for ways to secure cabinets and appliances. The Safety First Multi-Purpose Appliance Lock helps to keep my home safe for little ones. I received two locks in a box - there was very little packaging and a barcode to scan to find the online installation instructions. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to install the lock on my dryer in under 1 minute. The product definitely will keep my 1 year old out of the dryer - I do suspect that my 3 year old will eventually learn how to unclip the strap, but in the meantime it has been very effective. I would prefer if the lock was a single color (vs two colors) and thinner so that it wasn't so noticeable. Overall, this is a great product that is easy to install and will keep kiddos out of appliances (but isn't an annoyance for anyone actually using the appliance). Would definitely recommend!
