This cabinet slide lock serves its purpose — it does a good job at keeping little fingers out of the cabinets. My 2 year old and 10 month old have not been able to figure out how to take it off. It was easy to install and simple to take on and off. It is a bit of a pain to take on and off each time, but it's worth it to keep our little ones out of no-touch areas. I do tend to care about aesthetics of things, so I will say it is a bit bulky and not the prettiest thing on all of the cabinets. I would've probably preferred something that was smaller/less noticeable, like some other options out there. My husband and I have 18 month old twins on the move and these safety locks have been absolutely necessary and amazing. The slide lock is super easy to utilize and effective. Our girls bow struggle to try to open cabinets and are safe from anything that could be potentially harmful for them. The thing that I loved the most is that my husband installed it in less that a few minutes, they actually work, they're in exp and just overall a MUST HAVE for any and all parents trying to pro their little ones. It was very easy to use and perfect to keep my baby out of dangerous places! It was very easy to install and very easy to move from place to place. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because it's hard to use if you only have one free hand, you need two hands to close to back up. These Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Locks were so easy to install and work perfectly. Once installed you cannot open the cabinet even for the tiniest of fingers to get in there. I was worried the lock may not work as well because we have pull handles instead of circular knobs but it worked great!

This is a very effective lock for keeping toddlers out of cabinets. It is very easy to install! You just push the connector over the ends. One of the best parts of this lock is that the connector doesn't come off so it cannot be lost like other locks we have tried. Also because it doesn't come off you can open it with one hand! If we want to leave the cabinet unlocked we just let it hang on one of the handles and we know we won't lose the locking connection part. The only downside of this lock is that after a lot of use it does rub a tiny bit against our cabinet and the paint can wear a little bit. Overall this is a very durable cabinet lock. My toddler is very determined to get into every cabinet in the kitchen, and it's sturdy enough to hold up to her constant banging and pulling. The major plus is the slide lock which makes it very easy to both get a tight install on any door, and take it off when not needed. No need to stick anything to cabinets and risk ruining paint! The one con is since it's removable, it sits outside the cabinet so it was built for function, not necessarily aesthetic. A small item, but a big help! My one-year-old can open cabinets. This lock was precisely what we needed to keep the house safe. This cabinet slide lock is easy to install and operate. It takes time to get used to unlocking before opening the door. However, I'd take the slight inconvenience of moving the lock off over having to drill into my cabinets with an alternative solution. These Safety First locks have helped so much, but I am worried that usage over time could scratch my cabinets. I'd love to see a foam or silicone coating over parts of the plastic to prevent potential damage to my cabinets from the continuous sliding against the doors. This is the best cabinet lock I've used so far as a first time mom. It does what it says and effectively keeps my toddler out of unsafe cabinets, which is really the bare minimum. What makes it better than other ones that I have tried is the install — it easily wraps around different designs of cabinet handles without needing to measure or nail/drill or worry about damaging the wood or paint, which is perfect as we are renting our current home. It also locks and unlocks easily, especially for the older kids in our house. I liked the Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock. It keeps my little one out of most of my cabinets. It locks great on all the important cabinets, like the cleaning supplies cabinet. No matter how hard she pulls it stays locked. The only cabinet it did not work on is my bookcase. Because of the type of knob, it slipped right off. Be sure to test the lock on your knobs first. I love that it is so easy to install and I can unlock it with one hand. I can almost lock it with one hand, I just use my knee to help lock it. These locks were easy to install, fairly easy to use (occasionally had trouble opening but nothing too difficult) and got the job done in keeping baby out of our cabinets. The best part, in my opinion, is that it doesn't leave anything behind on the cabinets (no adhesives, or more permanent hardware installation that required). I really wanted a solution that wouldn't damage my cabinets in the long run, and these accomplish that!

Quick and west to install. Works great at keeping kids out but the best part of the design is when you open it. The whole thing stays connected! All the locks I've had in the past have a removable piece to open it up, and we would lose that piece ALL the time. Such a simple thing, but it makes all the difference. Esp for a mom who is usually distracted and has her hands full. I'm obsessed with these, and immediately threw away the other ones!

These safety locks offer a simple design with an easy locking mechanism. To tighten/loosen - simply pinch the sides and move! Easy! This makes life easy when installing - something not always offered with safety locks. My LO of 8 months was deterred from opening the doors with this lock. Now, I struggled giving a higher rating due to the lock not truly "locking" our cabinet doors. With it tightened all the way, the lock still could be moved just right to slide off the doors. My 8 month old could not do this but I worry about a curious toddler playing with it and figuring out how to remove the lock. The large locking piece on the product paired with our simple cabinet knobs does not allow for a tight hold on the door. To me, that is the biggest drawback and the reason I for the 3 rating. It is extremely easy to install and remove, yet challenging enough that our little explorer is unable to get past it. I am a big fan of these so far! We received this product through the Stellar Product Testing panel. We don't have many cabinets in our small home, but the ones we do have are easily accessible to our one year old. She's a big fan of opening and shutting the cabinets which isn't a huge problem, but she has shut her finger in them before. The product itself is super easy to use and install. It takes maybe two seconds! They're a little unsightly, but keep our girl safe so we don't mind! I will 100 percent recommend these to friends, and I would definitely buy these again when we're in need of more. The one tiny thing I would change is I would make them a little shorter. I understand they're more versatile for different size and shape cabinets but they stick out a bit which does bother me just a bit. Overall though, great safety product!

I received the Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock as part of the Stellar product testing panel. I liked this baby lock for the simplicity of its use. The lock part does not come off which I like because then you cannot loose it and you also cannot put it together wrong. When it is on you are unable to pull the cabinets open. 4/5 stars due to its kind of awkward to take on and off since you have to work around the lock. It's also not very "visually" friendly. It just looks like a child safety lock.
