The seat’s slim design—under 19" across without the cup holders—allows parents to fit three slim car seats across the back seat without sacrificing comfort. Seat pad is machine-washable and dryer-safe. You’ll always get the best fit with the 3-position adjustable base, 1-hand-adjustable harness system, and 8-position headrest.

A: Thank you for your question! Yes, our Safety 1st Trimate All-in-One Convertible Car Seat does have 3 positions. For rear-facing there are 2 different reclining positions and then the most upright position for forward-facing.

Q: Does the car seat have a base that comes with it?

A: Thank you for you for your question! This is a convertible car seat with a permanently attached base. It’s not like an infant carrier, so it doesn’t have a separate, removable base. The entire seat installs as one unit and would stay in the vehicle.
