A: Crank should be inside, along with instructions. Open by unscrewing top screw. Optionally adjust grind by how tightly you reassemble top screw above crank.

The ABS is used for the plastic grinding mechanism parts, which are durable and resistant to wear, while the zinc alloy forms the grinding burrs or teeth. The copper finish is applied to the exterior of the grinder for aesthetic purposes. These components do not come into contact with the spices. On the fence...
I'm on the fence on this set of grinders. I ordered them online, and they were packaged/shipped poorly, so arrived all scratched up. I went to the store to exchange, but even then, it was slim pickings for an undamaged set. So, my advise it to only buy these in store. Furthermore, I read a few more reviews after getting these, and a lot of people are reporting them breaking and/or flaking. One reviewer even said the finish was flaking off around the grinder area and was getting into the food. I got these on sale, but I'm still debating if they're worth keeping even at a great price.
