A: Arty: By the 'burrs,' do you mean certain interior moving parts that DO the grinding? Do you want to ID their material because the ACT of grinding can produce bits of grinder, not just spice?!

A: Seriously, this top - unlike the ones on many pepper-grinders - can be PULLED straight off, rather than unscrewed.

They look cute but unfortunately they are not practical. The pepper grinder gets stuck all the time and the salt shaker is designed very poorly. You fill it up from the bottom while salt comes out from the top. Unfortunately I am not happy with the purchase.

The pepper grinder does not grind peppercorn pieces. It seems like a piece is missing but that's just how they were designed. Pepper is not ground when top is twisted. I wish I had read other reviews before buying this item. Super asthetically pleasing but not functional or practical at all.

It’s honestly not great. They are cute and we leave them out on the table for guests, but it’s incredibly difficult to get the pepper to grind, it only spits out minute amounts. I have to buy a new pepper grinder because it’s honestly useless

I bought this set of salt shaker and pepper grinder because I liked the look and feel of the wood. They are well-made and sturdy. Pepper grinder is easy to use and adjust, is easier to clean than the salt shaker, but it requires disassembly and reassembly, which can be a hassle. However, I am not very happy with the salt shaker, the holes are too small and don't dispense enough salt. Overall, nice to look at, but not very practical. wouldn't buy again or recommend if it's not for the looks.

it's like whoever packaged the shakers made sure to drop them several times and scuff the edges. certainly not the clean look at shown in the pictures. disappointing.
