I love this machine!

TERRIBLE
I would give zero stars. I have experience making cotton candy and this thing is impossible to use. It burns the cotton candy every time and smokes and causes a huge mess. There’s not enough room in the bowl for the collection with the open heating element being so close. The sugar burns because it’s too close to the heating element as you begin to collect it.

Salton cotton candy maker model CCM1779 requires a degree of practice and patience but this appliance is designed for quality cotton candy making from the comfort of your home. With practice you will notice not all types of candy yield great results. A few helpful tips: Wet the stick before starting to collect the cotton candy. This will allow the cotton candy to adhere to the stick. Make sure the candies are evenly placed in the Sugar/Candy Chamber. Do not use ball-shaped candies or hard-shelled candies with a soft center. Not much cotton candy!
It's cute, but it gives you about a 2" size of cotton candy. It took a long time to get the tiny bit of sweets. To get as much cotton candy as the picture shows, you'd have to do it 5 times. Good cotton candy, but amount is very disappointing.

Salton Cotton Candy Maker model CCM1779 directions for maximum yield requires 1 scoop of flavored sugar or 2 hard candies, evenly spaced into the Sugar/Candy Chamber.

THE KIDS LOVE THIS. With no CNE this year I thought our get this for the ‘carnival experience. Huge hit. You can make custom flavors with jolly rancher candy too
