Q: I have used this razor/shaver for about 10 years and they continue to grow mold in all of the crevices. I have tried cleaning with brushes and mold & mildew sprays to no avail. Please re-design!

A: It varies significantly depending on each person's shaving habits, hair and usage. For the optimal performance, since the blades and the Water-Activated serum work together, you should replace the cartridge when you feel like either the 5 Curve-Sensing blades or the Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum are not performing to your expectations. Most consumers can get 5-7 shaves per cartridge, some more or less, but it depends on the user.

Q: Can I buy a replacement end for the electric trimmer without buying a whole new razor?

A: The trimmer side is not replaceable but please try the below steps: 1. Press the release button to remove the refill cartridge. 2. Hold the unit with the underside (Hydro logo) facing you and the trimmer comb facing up. Remove the comb by pushing up at the base of it with your thumb. 3. Place your thumb at base of the trimmer blades and push up to release the blade set from the unit; use the palm of your other hand to catch the blade set. 4. With blade set removed, turn the unit over so that the Schick logo is facing you and press the power button firmly. 5. If motor works with the blade set removed, the blades may be clogged with debris. Plug your sink drain and rinse the blade set under warm water to remove debris. 6. Hold the unit with the Schick logo facing you and replace the blade set by lining up the two notches at the back of the blade set with the corresponding notches at the trimmer end of the unit; then press down on the flat plastic top of the blade set to lock it into place. 7. If the motor still does not work, replace the battery. If you still experience difficulty after all these steps, please call us Monday through Friday at 1-800-742-8377 between the hours of 8AM and 6PM EST.

These have gotten worse and worse over the years, and now the most recent one has made me have to look elsewhere for a new product. Pushing the button does nothing, which is always what inevitably happens, but this time it only lasted 1-2 trims before crapping out. I love these when they work, but only the first one years ago was I able to successfully replace the batteries and have it still work. Since then changing the batteries never matters, once it dies it dies for good. But I liked it enough to keep purchasing every 6 months or so. Lately it’s maybe 3 months, and I was hesitant but still purchased one again. That was a mistake as it only worked for about a week. The second full trim I was not able to complete and it won’t turn on no matter what I do now. Definitely not worth the money anymore if it’s not going to last more even a month.

The first one of these I bought lasted for over a year. I changed the batteries as needed. The next TWO lasted for no more than 4 months each, and changing the batteries didn't produce any results. I like what it does, but if it isn't going to last, I'll find something that does.

I’d do ZERO stars if I could. It worked for literally one use and then never turned on again. I used an older model years ago and didn’t have this issue. Maybe this newer version just sucks, idk.

Best razor I’ve used, affordable and effective! I replace my razor blades once every two or three months as I don’t shave very often. Once every 4-7 days in the summer and once every 3 weeks in colder weather. They last long and don’t give me any razor bumps or cuts.

I am in love with this little razor. It makes shaving such a breeze. The bikini trimmer works fantastic. I don’t always have time to get a bikini wax and this saves the day. I also love the five plates. It cuts me really close and keeps me smooth for days. I am a mama to two little ones and I do not have time to mess around with shaving (I barely get time for a shower). I've been using and Hydo Silk TrimStyle since it came out about decade ago, and am on my 6th or 7th rebuy. They keep updating it and making it worse. It used to have a grippy body with lots of ridges that made it easy to handle in the shower. My most recent one finally gave out, so I replaced it last week, and the body is this smooth silicon type stuff that is impossible to grab hold of. It's so annoying.

Was excited to get this but the trimmer worked one time and when I went to touch up later that day, it turned on and slowed to a stop. I changed the battery and it still did not turn back on. Don't expect to get more than one use out of it.

This raZor used to be great but now it terrible it will not stay on and not with enough power the original trimmer use to have a metal turn on instead it's plastic .. for this price it would be better to purchase a Braun trimmer instead of this .. The blades also rusted and it never did that..

I like that it was very smooth on my skin when shaving. I did not like that it fell once and I couldn’t get the cartridge on the razor. I guess it broke something. Feel like it should be better quality especially if it’s used in the shower where things always fall.
