Q: Can you adjust the handlebar height?

submitted by Kathy - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Kathy, An adjustable stem allows the handlebar to be adjusted to fit the rider. Thanks!

submitted byPacific Cycle Beth - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Kathy! Most of our models comes with one of two different types of stems. A threadless stem, which can be adjusted forward and backwards, and a quill stem, which can be adjusted up and down. This specific model has a threadless stem so it can not be adjusted up and down to adjust the height.

Q: There is a 7+ lb. weight difference between the two bicycle colors. Is this an error in description or is this because the bikes are actually rated for different size passengers?

submitted by Heidi - 6 years ago
  • A: Oh, yes, looks like there's a typo in the details tab of the purple-colored version of this bike. Weight is listed as 41.9 lbs. instead of the correct 34 lbs., which the gray one is listed as.

submitted byBriGuy - 6 years ago
  • A: The assembled weight of both bikes is about 34 lbs. The shipping weight is about 42 lbs for both. The rider weight is up to 250 lbs. Thanks.

Q: What size bike would a 5'2" woman get?

submitted by DMo - 8 years ago
  • A: Hi there, I just saw this. I am a 5'1.75" woman with short legs and I know your struggle. I just picked this bicycle up at my local target after my old bike got stolen :(. Anyway, with the seat at minimum height the bike fits me just fine, so it's probably fine for other ~5'2" women. At fancier bike shops we could get a smaller frame, but for cheap Target bikes we're stuck with trying the different 28" women's and seeing what fits. Sadly, I'm yet to find a "men's" bike that I can ride due to my shortness.

    submitted byMad360 - 7 years ago
  • A: Hi DMo - Our bicycles fit most adults. Everyone has a different level of comfort and style. If size is a concern, I suggest swinging by the bike rack on your next shopping trip to Target and trying some of our bikes out for size.

Q: Shipping is unavailable for this item. If I were to pick it up in store, would it be pre-assembled? I don't have my bike rack yet and would need to be able to fit the box in my trunk.

Q: How do you assemble the handlebar? The bracket that is connected to the handlebar doesn't just slip around the main bar--it appears it should slip into the main bar, but the pin is in the way.

Q: Hello! Can I remove the suspension piece in the seat? Love the fit and style of this bike, but when I tried riding in store, I found the suspension to be too bounce-y, making it difficult to ride.

submitted by Liz - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Liz. Great question, we recommend visiting a professional bike shop for suggestions on any upgraded or aftermarket replacement parts that are not originally manufactured on our products for safety purposes. If you'd like to remove or add any parts, they will be able to check into the compatibility of your model and recommend upgraded replacements to safety install on your bike. Regards.

Q: Is this bike able to pull a bike trailer for two toddlers?

submitted by Sunshine - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi. Most bikes are compatible with the Schwinn universal coupler, however, in some cases, an extended axle will be needed. We recommend visiting a professional bike shop to check into the compatibility of adding any upgraded or aftermarket accessories to your bike. They will be able to check and let you know if a carrier can safely be installed on your particular model. Regards.

Very nice bike for the price. Most of the bike has the blackened coating which eliminates rust on typical chrome / metal. The adjustments make it suitable for a typical adult female. You don't want a 26 inch because you want to fully extend your legs while peddling.

I wonder if Schwin does research on the average size of women. This bike is Big Foot tall. Uncomfortable and awkward due to its size. This is a good bike for a tall woman or a med-tall man. Even the average man is 5'9; women: 5'4". Sad I have to return a bike. Hassle.

This is my first Schwinn. My other bike, Infinity Boss was stolen and I needed a bike for transportation. Target had this bike available already assembled. The first time I rode it, it felt so smooth like silk. This is going downhill and uphill on uneven pavement. Second time riding it felt wrong. I adjusted gear but it does not grip pedaling downhill. Also the tires are already deflating. I inflated tires and tried this again. Still having issues espeically changing gears. My Infinity changed gears very well. This bike does not. Tires seem to be deflating again. Strange cause it rides uphill very well. I notice issues going downhill.

Good bike however, it was not assembled correctly and after riding it just 3 times it cost me $100 to have it fixed. Not sure if I would have had a better total deal and a lot less hassle buying from a local bike shop.

Two short rides (before and after adjusting the limit screws) and can not get the front derailleur to shift properly when riding. My neighborhood has a bike station and I'm able to get it to smoothly shift on the rack. But take it on the road and it is back to the same problem. Reading other reviews this doesn't seem like a unique case. I want to like it but it may be going back to the store.
1 reply from SchwinnCustomerSupport team - 2 years ago
Hi. We're sorry to hear this! We would be happy to send any replacements needed for the damaged components, along with steps for the adjustments. This type of limitation can happen when the rear derailleur is out of adjustment (either the cable is a bit too tight, or the lower pulley is bent a little too close to the spokes and gets caught.) While this part is set in- the factory, it can shift/bend during shipping or with an extra big bump or fall throughout your adventures. For this reason, the suggestion to check the position of your rear derailleur and instructions for adjustments are included in your owner’s manual. This is considered general maintenance and adjustments for your bike to keep it in good condition. Please reach out to our Consumer Care Center or Direct message us your information on Facebook, Instagram, or twitter and we'd be happy to assist! We can be reached at 800-626-2811 Monday-Friday 7 am-6 pm CST. Warm Regards.

I build bikes and ride tons of new and used bikes every week, just bought this one new off of someone for my short commutes to save in on gas-and it rides AMAZING. I honestly prefer the comfort of cruisers myself, but for a hybrid this one beats them all in my book!! no issues at all with it it's 100% perfect. and this is not a fake review either lol!!

I bought a Schwimmer hybrid 2 yrs ago and after 1 ride I got a flat. filled with air, got another flat. I noticed quickly that there was a gap from the tire to the metal wall expelling air. I do not exceed a weight limit it's clearly an issue with the way it was built. I deciding to give this model a try becusse really it's all I can afford for hybrids and don't want to assemble on my own and target assembles if you buy in store. after one ride, another flat. filled the tire with air for 10 minutes and nothing. also had same issue with gear shifting. awful. don't even know what I'm supposed to do! so upset. I need this for transportation and the wheel is flat! it won't fill up and ot doesn't need a patch.

I've had this bike for 45 minutes. Picked it up and left the store in a rush. Got home and tried to ride the bike, but it doesn't pedal forward and the chain is misaligned. Called Schwinn and they advise me to return this immediately because it wasn't properly assembled correctly (said it's most likely a crankshaft issue.) Terrible experience!

I read the reviews of other shorter people and seen this bike on sale and was soooo excited to pick it up! But, it was way too big. The bike felt great, sturdy, Loved the handlebars. The seat. The blue color is super pretty. This is an awesome bike. My husband is 6"3 and he fit the bike much better. Still searching for my perfect bike... Also* Target has a chart in store which tells the correct wheel/bike size for your height (very helpful) This bike is an 28" - I need a 24/26" bike at 5"2 - I haven't purchased a bike since childhood. Some may know this.... But, I really had no clue. If your taller - Buy this bike! If your funsize... I recommend trying it out in person. Target NEEDS more bike selections - 1 star deducted I've gone to multiple stores now... zero to three bikes max. More inventory please.

Easy to assemble but had to adjust front gears. Going up to gear 2 was an issue but not surprise bc gears are good but low end. Shifting on the front gears is harder to engage than back gears but this is alot better than the twist gear shift. Ride is good and maneuvering is average. A slightly longer handle bar might help. Overall the bike is great for beginner weekend riders at this price range.
