Scotch 1'x1' Clear DS Mounting Squares: Adhesive Double Sided Tape, Sticky Tack, 48 Clear Adhesive Strips

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotch Mount Clear provided a quick and easy solution for adding security cameras in my storage area. The ideal mounting location was to the face of metal shelving, but the screws supplied with the camera weren’t designed for that. Rather than buy metal screws that could present a challenge to placing the camera on the mount, I turned to the Clear Mounting strips. I was able to mount each camera within seconds, which was an added plus. Using them was easy. All I had to do was peel the backing, affix it to the camera base, and press it in place. The clear color made for a clean appearance, too -- a quality that could be very important in some applications.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the clear mounting tags squares to rehang my sign on my front door. I wanted something you couldn’t see and something that wouldn’t damage my front door cause that would suck to repaint. I placed a few squares on the back of the sign and placed it on the door. You have to hold the object in place with a firm hold for a few seconds to help it adhere. So far so good. The sign has been up for a week and it’s holding on strong even in heat and on a windy day. We will be decorating my sons nursery soon and I’ll definitely be using the mounting tape rather than hammering holes in walls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This looks like a good product, but I've been unable to come up with a use for it at present. One negative is the amount of tape you need to hold a heavy object. While it says it holds up to 15 lbs., but the amount of tape needed is a drawback

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found these Scotch Mount (TM) Clear Double-Sided Mounting Strips to be a solution in search of a problem. I received a complimentary sample for review and took a couple of weeks to figure out a use for them . . . so I used them to beef up the strength for a fairly weighty art piece where I initially was going to use only a 3M Command Brand hanger. “Industrial strength” sounded strong enough and the art piece has being secure for some time now. The liner was difficult to remove: I had to use a craft knife. The material was easy enough to use and adhered as advertised. NB: I’ll keep searching for problems where these mounting strips can be successfully installed.

The front of the package is attractive and product features stand out. I would like the directions to be a little larger print though or use colored ink to make them easier to read.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M sent me a free sample of their Scotch Mount Double-Sided Mounting Tape to review. I tried the tape on different surfaces (window glass, door with enamel-based paint, refrigerator, vinyl siding) and it performed well. It is easy to apply and has a neat, clean appearance. The packaging says it is a permanent adhesive so I have not tried to remove it to see how difficult it is or if it will damage the surfaces. I would recommend this product.

I usually love 3M products but this is not my favorite one I have ever tried for several reasons. First, the label of "holds up to 15 lbs" is misleading. When you actually read the product usage on the back it explains that you literally need to use the ENTIRE roll to hold up to 15 lbs. Instead each inch only holds up to 1 lb each, so don't buy this if you have anything particularly heavy to hang with it. The other thing I didn't like was that the backing was very hard to separate from the adhesive without pulling the adhesive away. On the plus side, I like that this gives an option for another way to hang when it is too hard to hang with the usual methods or you are working on a surface that you can't nail into. It is also for both indoor and outdoor use which is a nice feature. So overall there are both pros and cons to this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, I appreciate the thickness of the tape, that made it easier to work with, and I didn’t have to do anything special to find the next starting place on the roll. I needed a place to quickly hang my glasses in every room so this worked very well for my home made glasses holders.

The thickness of the tape is great and it's easy to mount on flat items. It worked well for smaller prints, but I'm worried about heavier items, even though it says up to 15 lbs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this tape to repurpose an old towel hanger that was meant to be screwed to the wall. This tape was a better alternative since I could attach it to a surface that could not be screwed into.I found an old towel hanger in the basement and decided I could use it in the garage. We have an old refrigerator next to the door that was the perfect place to hang this holder. Since I could not use screws to attach it, I decided this tape would be the perfect way to adhere the holder to the refrigerator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried Scotch Mount clear double -sided mounting strips (free sample provided) and here are my observations: The strips are clear and feature a heavy-duty adhesive, making them suitable for various mounting tasks. The product includes clear and concise instructions, which provide helpful suggestions on how many strips to use based on the weight of the item you are mounting. Each square is rated to hold 4 oz, so it's important to do the math according to the weight of your item. One downside I encountered was that it can be very difficult to separate the backing from the adhesive. Additionally, if I accidentally got a fingerprint on the adhesive, it seems to lessen the stickiness. I would advise you use these when you are not in a hurry. Overall, the difficulty of separating the layers and coupled with the reduction in stickiness, if not untouched drives my rating of this product.
