Awful
These fall apart so easy. I didn’t like these at all compared to other brands I’ve tried.

These are my favorite sponges. They don’t scratch and they look pretty sitting on the sink.

Nice texture and color!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sponge is a nice size and has a great texture on both sides for cleaning. However, it does retain a lot of water and takes a lot to get it wrung out so that you can use it to wipe things down without excess water.

Good but get moldy fast
I like these sponges, but they get moldy after about a week. Like literally gray/black moldy, even though I have it on a wire sponge rack to air dry after squeezing it out. I couldn’t believe how fast I went through a 3-pack.

Smell like gross moldy sponge after a few uses!
I used one sponge maybe 3x before it started to smell like moldy sponge! So gross! I bought these by mistake (I use the Scotch Brite "Dobie") but figured I'd try them anyway and now I have 2 more that I would rather just throw out. Our sponge holder drains the water below the sponge so that they dry faster but that didn't seem to help. The other Scotch Brite Dobie (white) ones never smell bad so I'm not sure where these sponges missed the mark

My go to!
My go to sponges. I like that they are dye free and you can see when they get really dirty and need to be replaced!

I hate the new white sponges!
I miss the old tan-colored agave sponges. Please bring them back or change the white color of the new ones. The white sponge is so ick so quick.

Nice green alternative to regular sponges. They work well without damaging the surface of my Greenpans.

Greenwashed and Gritty—These Sponges Miss the Point
I really wanted to love these sponges. I’m all for sustainability, and anything that promises to be “greener” gets me excited. But then I got home, opened the package, and read the fine print—recycled plastic. Cue the record scratch. Look, I thought I was buying some kind of magical, natural sponge that came from a responsibly harvested sea cucumber or something. Instead, I got compressed mystery plastic with a sustainability sticker slapped on the front. Here’s the thing: recycled plastic isn’t the eco-halo people think it is. You can’t just toss every bottle cap and Barbie doll into a blender and expect a BPA-free, non-toxic miracle sponge to pop out. That’s not science. That’s wishful branding. And let’s talk about the recycling stats. In the U.S., we recycle less than 6% of plastics. That’s not a typo. It used to be 9%, but apparently, we’re trending backwards. When we do recycle, it’s either ground into microplastics (yum, enjoy that in your bloodstream), or cooked in toxic “advanced recycling” facilities that release chemical fumes into nearby neighborhoods. Nothing says “eco-friendly” like petrochemical soup for the suburbs. So yeah, I’m a little salty. These sponges aren’t what they claim to be. They’re not natural, they’re not non-toxic, and calling them climate-friendly is like calling a leaf blower solar-powered because the sun is out while you’re using it. Scotch-Brite, I love a good scrub. But don’t sell me plastic and call it green.

They don't get that stinky smell like the blue ones. They are also great as a body scrubber in the shower!

So smelly
These start to smell so gross and like a wet sponge (which I know it is but the classic gross smell they get is so yucky) really quickly. I find myself changing the sponge out after only a week or so and it feels wasteful, especially for a more “eco friendly” option

More expensive for a larger pack?!
I love these sponges, but was puzzled to see that the 6-pack is $1 more expensive than the 3-pack…. This seems a little deceiving to me, as most people will choose the larger pack to save a little money. You can buy two of the 3-pack for $7 or buy the 6-pack for $7.99… make it make sense. Are they hoping people don’t notice or don’t do the math and just buy it assuming it’s more cost effective, when it’s actually more expensive?? Hoping this isn’t the new deceptive thing stores are doing now. Prices have already increased while the size/quantity of products decreases so we’re already paying more for less. This new pricing tactic is not cool.
