I noticed the new design has a hole in the middle of the sponge...I have no clue why. Soap doesn't need a hole to penetrate through a sponge. The sponge is what keeps the soap from leaking and dispensing too quickly. Now with the hole, I have to refill it every time I use it because it dispenses way too much while I'm washing dishes. (Side note, the button as a method to dispense the soap has never worked...doesn't matter if I push it or don't, the soap always comes out into the sponge.) Get rid of the hole!

Hello - Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear of the trouble. Our new design is intended to provide direct soap flow with our Dishwands. When finished using the dishwands, we recommend that they be stored upright. When using our Advance Soap Control Dishwands, soap should flow directly to your dishes when the button on the wand is pressed. Once finished, the Advanced Soap Control Dishwand can be stored in any position without leaking. We’ve heard your feedback and are working on a fix to all Scotch-Brite Dishwand Refills that we hope to have available soon. In the meantime, please reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns, 1-800-846-8887 M-F 8am-4:30pm CT.
