Absolutely great but has rust issues with the battery cover screw. I can see why it's called Wizz, for me that means it's a whiz to use..This really beats rolling a fertilizer spreader around the yard. You do have to make sure your fertilizer doesn't contain lumps and you store this in a very dry place, indoors I think to prevent it from rusting..If this one gives out I'll definitely get another one. The only big negative is it's a bit pricey.

Absolute worst piece of garbage I have ever purchased. Terrible!!! Even with the hopper slightly filled, the rotor will only turn sporadically. Don't take your finger off the trigger or it will not engage again. Tried several sets of new batteries with the same results. As others have noted, save your money and manually spread fertilizer or seeds to avoid the frustration. Does anyone at Scotts actually test crap like this before offering it for sale?

We're so sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Scotts Wizz Spreader. We want you to be happy with your products, so let's see if we can get this sorted out. There are a couple of things to check before using your spreader. Make sure the switch is completely set to ON or OFF. If it's in between, it might cause some binding. Also, check that the Edgeguard is not dislocated and can rotate freely. We're confident in our products and want you to be too! That's why we offer a product guarantee. If you're not satisfied with the results after using the Scotts Wizz Spreader, you can get your money back. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 888-270-3714. We're here to help!
Never makes it to a second year

We have had two of these. Both worked fine for a year and were stored for winter. The second season it was taken out, new batteries put in, and it would barely work, proceeding to fully die within a few weeks. Love the idea, and we don't have a lot of space to store something bigger, but these are a total waste of money if you have to buy them new every year due to failure of the motor.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Wizz Spreader and appreciate your feedback. Store your spreader in a dry spot. Those batteries can corrode if they get wet or hang out in humidity for too long. If you're taking a break from lawn care for a while, go ahead and pop the batteries out. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

I bought this a couple of months ago to seed and fertilize my new back yard lawn. It worked well for a couple of times. It got rained on a little bit. Now it does not work. Dried out battery compartment and Changed batteries. Will not work! I’m trying to get Scott’s to take it back. I’ll get an old school hand crank!

Only used lightly on very small lawn for one season. Tried it yesterday and the spinner barely turns. Put in new batteries and it acted the small. I had to shake it left/right to use it at all. With nothing in the feed hopper, the spinner only turns after being started by my finger. Very weak spinner motor.

It quite working. I took it apart. The little cannister motor died, I think. I can direct wire the motor to the batteries and see if it will work. I did not clean this thing lightly with a garden hose as the instructions say to do on the plastic trim card connected to the side of the unit - but don't do it! It is not a water tight unit. The underneath department where the motor is fills up with debris. I would clean it and it would go again but the motor got weaker and weaker. Its not the batteries. Its just a poorly designed instrument. Do not buy. Nothing but trouble.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Wizz Spreader and appreciate your feedback. Want to keep your spreader working like new? After each use, just pour any leftover product back into its original container. Then, give the spreader a quick wipe down with a damp paper towel. Avoid spraying it directly with water, dunking it in water, or letting water hang out in the hopper. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Wizz Spreader and appreciate your feedback. The batteries in this product should last for several applications depending on how large your lawn is and what product you are putting down. Of course, if you are putting down heavier products over a large area the batteries will run out faster. The life of the battery will also depend on the make of battery used. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. I've had this for two years, used it four times and it worked fine each time on the original batteries. I did buy some fertilizer recently which was a little chunky so the spreader gave me some problems which is probably due to weak batteries. I'm looking for the manual to figure out how to clean it though.

Came with batteries but they may be no good. Will try new ones in the Spring. Loved the idea of this thing and when it worked was great but it locked up and slowed down a bit. Coverage was good.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Wizz Spreader and appreciate your feedback. It must be completely set to ON or OFF, if it is set in between, there will be some binding. Make sure the Edgeguard is not dislocated and can rotate freely. Check the Rotor Plate position. There should be a gap between the orange edgeguard part that is directly under the hopper and the top of the cylinder portion of the green rotor plate. The bottom of the cylinder portion should be resting on the black washer like piece. Use a screwdriver to push the rotor plate down and make sure the center cylinder portion of rotor plate is aligned with the bottom of the spreader. Just lay the screwdriver across the rotor plate and push down. It is helpful to slightly tilt the spreader down to keep any product from clumping. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. I bought 2 each and they both performed terribly. The motor would run intermittently or at lower speeds when pressing the trigger. I took one of them apart and bipassed the poorly designed electrical switch and put an on/off switch externally mounted on the handle. Now the unit operates at max speed all the time. The original spring switch contact is intermittent and insufficient for proper operation. I plan to modify the second unit in the future
