Sergeant’s Guardian Pro is an affordable way to protect your cat from fleas and ticks. Always be sure to look at the label before applying. ONLY for cats weighing 6lbs or more, the contents of the package provides a 3 month’s supply. First, remove the product tube from the package. Holding tube with the top end pointing up and away from the face and body, cut off the top end. Use the open end to part the cat’s coat to expose the skin between the shoulder blades, at the nape of the neck. Finally, Squeeze the entire contents of one tube onto exposed skin. If the cat’s coat is subsequently wetted, such as when shampooing, the 4-week period of protection may be reduced. We're now part of the PetIQ family. We Are Advocates for Pet Parents. I beg Target to please take this product off the shelves. It is extremely hazardous for cats' health. After giving it to my cat last night, I woke up this morning to find her foaming at the mouth, crying, shaking, blinking in confusion, and refusing to eat. I had to take her to the vet, where they tried to help flush the poison from her system. Please, Target, stop selling this. I bought it in the store but would never have touched it had I seen these other reviews.

Left a bald spot on my cat's neck after one treatment due to her being in extreme discomfort from the applied area. This is not something I would recommend to any cat owner, as she was in a lot of pain. We had to wipe the area clean and apply cat-safe creams to help sooth the area. The flea collars are a much safe option and have not harmed my cat at all.
Horrible Product — Made My Cat Sick

This is a horrible product. I bought it from Target and followed the instructions exactly. The next morning, my cat started drooling a lot, which was really alarming. It was a very upsetting experience. Something meant to protect pets should never cause them to get sick. Please be careful if you're considering this. I strongly recommend avoiding it and looking for a safer alternative.

It’s been a week since application and there are still live fleas on my cats. They were not themselves for several days after we applied the medication, which tells me this product was causing them a lot of distress. I feel horrible that I gave my cats something that has such bad reviews and is potentially dangerous.

This is the worst product EVER! My cat was showing signs of distress within an hour of application. He was not himself for days. Now he has an infection in his eyes that I believe is tied to this product. Save your pet!! Stay away from this horrible product!

My cats almost died. The smell immediately was horrible. The cat started running around the room gagging. Blinking like it couldn't see. I had to bath both cats immediately and I only used one dose on both cats.

I got it because it was the only one Target had left in stock. It straight up doesn't work. It's greasy, it left my cat's fur all nasty and clumpy, and while she didn't have as severe of a reaction as other reviewers have described, she did lose hair where it was applied. And it doesn't even get rid of fleas. So now I'm combing my cat with a flea comb a few times a day and vacuuming my apartment like I have OCD while I wait until it's safe to apply a different medication

The absolute worst thing I have ever put on my cats. Both my cats lost clumps of fur overnight and I had to bathe both. One of my cats had a bad rash and the other had discoloration. I should have read the reviews beforehand. I don’t normally leave reviews but this product is horrible.

I wish I read the reviews before I gave this to my cat. Ever since I’ve given her it she’s been acting weird and drooling. It needs to be removed from the market.

I used the product exactly as instructed and I ended up having to bring both of my cats to the vet for an emergency visit. It'll be cheaper to go to the vet for a traditional flea treatment than this
DO NOT PURCHASE - Should be removed from stores.

I purchased this product as a temporary solution for my cat, as I've always used Frontline for my pets and my cats haven't had any adverse effects. I picked this trash up from the store after reading what must be AI-generated reviews promoting the product. DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR CATS. My cat has scratched most of the hair off of the application site, and my vet was glad that I brought him in. My veterinarian told me that this is a common problem with this product, and I'm far from the first person they've seen with this issue. It can result in seizures and even DEATH. If you truly love your cats, please don't try and save a few bucks thinking this is a good product. You get what you pay for, and I hope to see Sergeant's go out of business.

Had to call poison control and emergency vet hotline. The product leaked down the back of the neck where my cats are able to reach and ingest. They have not stopped scratching and grooming since I applied it. I’m having to do multiple dish soap baths to remove the greasy chemicals from two cats that hate water! This product is costing my two arms and legs. Do not recommend.
