Leaking after only a few months.
Normally, I am thrilled with Sharkbite products, but I’m saddened to have to concur with some of the negative reviews about this sillcock as far as durability and leaking. We drained the hose lines way before winter, in case you were wondering about expansion from freeze up. Let see if shark bite stands behind their product.

Satisfied Overall
Hesitant at first to buy a shark bite sillxock based on some reviews. However I decided to try one regardless and am SATISFIED with my overall experience. I recommend to others considering a shark bite sillcock to be cognizant of the fact that the water flow from the outlet stops before the shut off knob does. Stopping the turning of the shut off valve knob at the water shut off point will probably prevent the internal sillcock washers/parts from wearing down prematurely and unnecessarily. Also used the shark bite deburring tool. I applied a 1/4” bead of outdoor caulk around the base of the sillcock behind the flat flange that rested against the vinyl siding, remember to put the provided spacer behind the flange before applying the caulking. I needed to drill one small pilot hole for a screw to fasten the shark bite flange to the wall as one of the holes from the old sillcock was reusable.

Lasted 10 months before failing
This sillcock only lasted 10 months for me before it needed rebuilt. The rubber washers inside wore out and quit flowing water. Had to disassemble just to see worn out parts. On a seldomly used hose….

2nd one in two years to break internally
For these supposedly being frost proof, I don’t see it. Replaced my first one last year when the line froze. First one thought maybe it was just a user problem, so i replaced it another. Fast forward to this winter, I had taken all precautions to insulate so it didn’t freeze. It didn’t make it through the first cold spell and I’m very disappointed in them especially at the price point. I do not recommend these! Will give 2 stars as they are a nice valve.

Hi Cody, we apologize for the poor experience you have had with the Frost-Free Sillcock. While the Sillcock can be used outdoors, it is not recommended for use in freezing temperatures. To avoid the issue you have experienced, it is recommended to drain any water lines that will be exposed to freezing temperatures (under 33 degrees Fahrenheit) as the freezing of the water will cause excess pressure in the line, which could cause the failure. Please give our Technical Support Team a call at 1- 877-700-4242 so we can learn more about your application and help resolve the situation

Good quality. Fairly easy install. One issue..
I recently bought 2 of these to replace old worn out hose spigots on my house. Overall the product seems like it is built with quality and was easy to install. I paired it with new sharkbite ball valves to replace my old leaky valves inside also. My only issue with the design of the product is how close together the screw mounting tabs are. By time you drill the hole in brick/mortar large enough for the main tube to pass through, there is barely any room left to drill the 2 small holes for the mounting screws. This may not be as much of an issue for applications other than brick which are easier to drill a clean hole and put screws in. This is likely a common issue/design with other brand products as well. But I point it out as I think it would be a simple design change with a huge improvement for ease of installation. Thank you.

Quick easy to install excellent instructions.
I bought the 1/2” frost free sillcock to replace my old outdoor faucet. Instructions were excellent, installation easy. I recommend you purchase the end measuring tool and deburr Tool from shark bite, this will make it easy, no measuring required and get rid of and burrs on the end of the copper pipe.

Easy and quick - instructions need clarity
Great product. Love it. It’s easy to install and works great. The only thing is the directions say ‘not for continuous pressure over 12 hours’. I see someone asked about it and they explained in a lot of words that means continuous flow not pressure. So it can be used like a hose should - not for continuous use over 12 hours something like that would be better.

Repair parts not available
The anti-siphon check valve failed and we are now forced to replace the entire unit. This is unacceptable not to mention extremely wasteful. We have become a "throw away" society and your products are perpetuating this trend. We'll be purchasing another manufacturers product from this point forward.
