SheaMoisture Bar Soap Deeply Moisturizing - Raw Shea Butter - 8oz

This is the best soap! So gentle on your hands, but makes them incredibly clean. Doesn’t dry them out. Also perfect soap to use after gardening. Cleans so well!

I just purchased this after not using it for a while and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED to see this new formula. The bar is very DRY to the touch and appears darker than its original version that came in a plastic wrapper. It’s now in a box and the artificial fragrance is SO strong and sickening sweet. Perfume is one of the top ingredients in this new formula and you can tell. You can smell it through the shipping box!! That can’t be good or “moisturizing” for any skin type. I do not recommend. I am returning this IMMEDIATELY! Shame. I am NOT putting this on my skin! Shea Moisture, please change it back to the original soap and chill with the perfumes, because this screams, “I don’t care about healthy skin!” Or about your consumers go that matter—which is a big mistake. Change it back please.

I used to love this soap bar because it lasts a while and smelled amazing and stocked up when they were becoming difficult to find. Turns out Shea Moisture was changing the formula and now it just smells like cheap soap. It seems like it will still last a while and it is still a large bar but I wont be purchasing again as the smell is unpleasant.

The scent has changed. I've been buying the frankincense and myrrh soap for years when it was wrapped in the waxy paper. It's in a box now (fine) but the scent is completely different, artificial and unpleasant. Why?

This review is NOT part of a promotion. I have come here to say this is a soap I cannot live without. The scent is a perfect balance of clean and expensive, leathery and spicy, hitting similar spots in the nose as Le Labo Santal 33 for ex. It’s subtle and not too strong. It doesn’t dry you out as much as other bar soaps, but still leaves room for moisturizing post-shower. I hope they never stop making it.

The other too benefit is how moisturizing it is to the skin. I’m not crazy about the fragrance, but overall it’s a pretty well-performing soap that lathers well and softens your skin (which is hard to complain about).

It leaves the skin quite clean, the smell is very pleasant and leaves it hydrated, it does not leave the skin feeling greasy and although my skin is oily, I really loved how it left my skin.
