Q: Can these be used with a tv?

submitted by Grammy - 7 months ago
  • A: Hello- Shokz here! Yes, you can use Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 headphones with a TV, but only if the TV has built-in Bluetooth; if not, you'll need a separate Bluetooth transmitter for audio transmission, allowing private listening while staying aware of your surroundings, a common feature for smart TVs and devices. Please reach out to our Customer Happiness Team if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Q: Can these be used for swimming workouts in an indoor pool?

submitted by Swimmer - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Swimmer, thanks for reaching out about Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Bluetooth Wireless Headphones - Black (S820-ST-BK-US) No, these Shokz Bluetooth Wireless Headphones are not designed for swimming. While they have an IP67 rating, which means they can withstand sweat, rain, and splashes, they are not waterproof enough for submersion in water. Shokz does however offer a different model, specifically designed for swimming, called the Shokz OpenSwim. Those headphones have an IP68 rating, making them fully waterproof and submersible. They also have built-in storage for music, as Bluetooth does not transmit well underwater. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Bone conduction?

The most comfortable over-ear style I've ever tried, and I love how user friendly they are. I was so tired of accidentally hanging up on calls with little earbuds just by trying to adjust them. These have convenient buttons that do everything so much easier. My only issue is the sound. Maybe it's just mine, but I can't hear it unless the volume is on full blast, and even then it's a little quiet. It's a little frustrating when I'm trying to listen to something that is quiet or someone isn't speaking up over the phone and I can't turn the volume up any higher. I would expect better sound quality from bone conduction, but these seem to just use normal speakers, just a little farther away from the ear.

Gave it a low rating

Gave it a low rating because I don’t have a compatible usb power adapter. Given the cost of the unit, the adapter should have been included, cheapos.

New to open runs! Great item

Love them but wish I would have gotten the smaller size just a bit too big on my head.

great headphones!

I've been using Shokz for the last 5 years and have been very happy with them. I love how they sound like the whole room is filled with sound, and you can still hear what is going on. In very noisy environments, earplugs are needed to block external sounds if you want to hear. On the plus side, this makes them great for mowing the lawn. I recently upgraded to Open Run Pro 2. This is a big improvement in sound from the basic model I have been using. This came with a hard case that really protects them, and the old (way too) loud beeps when you're adjusting the volume are gone. My head size was right on the border between standard and mini, so I got the mini this time. On the plus side, now when I lie down and talk, people can still hear me. On the negative side, if I wear them for several hours, they can start to get uncomfortable.

Love Love

I love my beautiful, blue, Shokz OpenRuns. They are by far the greatest listening device I’ve ever owned. These headphones are very user friendly and so light and comfortable (even with eye glasses on). My Shokz deliver beyond exceptional sound!! I recently purchased two more Shokz OpenRuns to give as gifts:)

She loved them.

She went for a 9 mile hike today and loved that she could still have conversations and listen to her music.

Situational awareness

Great for running and walking in busy areas. I’ve used them on multiple 5 and 10k runs. Can hear what’s going on around you and not be surprised when someone or something comes up behind you. Easy to use with actual buttons

Not what I expected

I have a version from years ago that I love. I purchased these to replace the old one, but discovered that they don’t work as well, for my needs anyway. When I’m in loud places, I like to plug my ears and listen music with my Shokz. With these new ones, the bone conduction isn’t as good and therefore I cannot plug my ears and still listen. I expect it was my error when ordering, but still. I’m bummed.

Enjoy, but some sounds do

Enjoy, but some sounds do come off a little weaker/different from non headphone listening.

First ever Shokz and NO regrets!

Perfect for running, listening to music, TEAMs meetings, and seeing patients over video appointments. The battery lasts a LONG time too.

The are amazing!

I loved by original pair, but they got broken by my daughter. So I thought I would just go with a generic off brand, and they just werent as good. When their sale happened, I decided to get the Pro 2 model, and they are OUTSTANDING! I will never go off brand again! These sound better, fit better, and most importantly last all day long! I am extremely pleased with them! I work in a woodshop and I drive motorcycles and these work perfectly for both! I can listen to music or a podcast all day, and put in earplugs when I need to and never have to take these off, never have to switch devices, or adjust volumes. They are just so nice to use!

Surprised by comfort!

I was worried about the feel of the band across my neck, but these are so light-weight and comfortable that I hardly know I'm wearing them. I was using JBL over-the-ear before (which were great), but I wanted these for races that have headphone restrictions. I also really like that it's an actual button to push to pause or advance a song, versus a touch only that is more sensitive and inconsistent with sweaty handes.

Even I could understand how to PAIR IT

It's exactly what was needed. Wish this bone conductor technology could could incorporate an amplifier since I remove my hearing aids while wearing OpenRun Pro 2

Good sound, feel bigger than I thought they would

I used the measurement chart to order the correct size, but they feel kind of big. They don't fall off my head though at least. Sound quality is about what I expected, and works for what I want them for.

Love These!

I’ve been wearing them to stir my heart in the morning while not being deaf to my wife’s dialogue. Then wearing them while biking has added a great dimension to a very enjoyable experience.

Totally satisfied

Started with the AfterShokz Air about 5 yrs ago. Loved the fact that you could listen to music and still be aware of your surroundings. They still work today and I use when charging my newest pair. I moved onto Shokz OpenRun. Liked the improved sound and battery life. Eventually the power button broke due to over use, no doubt. Which turned out to be a great misfortune as I now had a reason to go with the OpenRun2. Didn’t think it was possible but even better sound. I’ve always appreciated the fact when mowing the lawn or running the snowblower, I can wear earplugs and still hear the music while protecting my hearing instead of using over the ear headphones and blasting the music to drown out the outside noise. I wear them constantly, even if not listening to anything and don’t find them uncomfortable at all. I usually forget they’re on.

upgrade from aftershokz

Still getting used to them. They work well, have good sound quality, are comfortable, & the battery seems to last. I had some issues with the max volume being insufficient but was able to change (android phone) settings to correct it.
