While they have an IP67 rating, which means they can withstand sweat, rain, and splashes, they are not waterproof enough for submersion in water. Shokz does however offer a different model, specifically designed for swimming, called the Shokz OpenSwim. Those headphones have an IP68 rating, making them fully waterproof and submersible. They also have built-in storage for music, as Bluetooth does not transmit well underwater. Runners will Love these!!!

I am a runner and run sever times a week. I can get pretty sweaty and these stay in place and do not hurt my ears. I can hear my music but also what is going on around me to help keep me safe.

Honest review

I wear them to cycle and I wear them during work. They are comfortable and I forget I have them on. The sound is great so far. The only thing I miss is being able to hear passed the music to the people around me. I've noticed that I can't do that with these. I've accepted that I can't truly go hands free because these headphones aren't set up to do that and I think that's also why I can't hear people talking to me when the music is on.

Won’t hold a 12 hr charge

I got these as they were recommended by sheepdog to use with their Bluetooth. And they will not last beyond 6hrs. Very disappointed

Love these!

As an audiologist for 40 years, I have long known of the enhanced ability we have to hear via bone conduction. I’d been waiting for a product that had good sound quality, and after a test run with a friend’s set of Shokz, I was motivated to purchase my own. I love them. I can hear the environment, unlike with standard ear pods, so I am situationally aware when out and about. They are comfortable to wear, and the sound quality is fantastic. I’m very happy with my purchase!

Honestly better than I could have imagined

The shokz have exceeded my expectations. I’m a wrestler and Jiu Jitsu practitioner so I have cauliflower ear. These are the only headphones or buds that don’t irritate my ears or cause pain. The sound quality is that of something I’d honestly pay double for. Battery is amazing it goes all day. Sometimes I forget I’m wearing it. Workouts are great with it too doesn’t move it all. All in all amazing product a lot of time and care went into making this

love for exercise

I do love my Shokz for running or walking. I can hear my music and still hear traffic or if people talk to me as they go by. The sound quality is good. The fit is great - I have never been able to keep ear buds in my ears when I'm moving, even with the adjustable caps, and regular over the ear headphones give me a headache. These stay put, and they don't hurt, even with glasses and a lycra headband in my hair. (The Shokz are not loud enough for things like mowing or listening to my book while doing DIY projects like sanding furniture. ) It's been a bit of a learning curve to find the buttons while I'm moving, but I'm getting the hang of it!

Bone conduction?

The most comfortable over-ear style I've ever tried, and I love how user friendly they are. I was so tired of accidentally hanging up on calls with little earbuds just by trying to adjust them. These have convenient buttons that do everything so much easier. My only issue is the sound. Maybe it's just mine, but I can't hear it unless the volume is on full blast, and even then it's a little quiet. It's a little frustrating when I'm trying to listen to something that is quiet or someone isn't speaking up over the phone and I can't turn the volume up any higher. I would expect better sound quality from bone conduction, but these seem to just use normal speakers, just a little farther away from the ear.

great headphones!

I've been using Shokz for the last 5 years and have been very happy with them. I love how they sound like the whole room is filled with sound, and you can still hear what is going on. In very noisy environments, earplugs are needed to block external sounds if you want to hear. On the plus side, this makes them great for mowing the lawn. I recently upgraded to Open Run Pro 2. This is a big improvement in sound from the basic model I have been using. This came with a hard case that really protects them, and the old (way too) loud beeps when you're adjusting the volume are gone. My head size was right on the border between standard and mini, so I got the mini this time. On the plus side, now when I lie down and talk, people can still hear me. On the negative side, if I wear them for several hours, they can start to get uncomfortable.

Love Love

I love my beautiful, blue, Shokz OpenRuns. They are by far the greatest listening device I’ve ever owned. These headphones are very user friendly and so light and comfortable (even with eye glasses on). My Shokz deliver beyond exceptional sound!! Situational awareness

Great for running and walking in busy areas. I’ve used them on multiple 5 and 10k runs. Can hear what’s going on around you and not be surprised when someone or something comes up behind you. Easy to use with actual buttons
