Sound quality on telephone
The sound quality of the music is good enough, and they stay on the head quite well. However, when using them to make phone calls, it is not clear, and the person on the other side says it seems like you are talking through water.

My 2nd pair.
I really like the Open Run Pro 2. This is my 2nd pair. I use them at work every day. The dual Bluetooth connection is awesome. They transfer seamlessly between my laptop and phone based on whatever I’m using at the time. The sound quality is clear and the open ear style is great for having conversations while using them. I highly recommend this product.

Not for people who sweat!
I was super excited about these headphones. I’m an avid runner and really like how I can still hear my surroundings. That’s as far as it goes though. If these get even the tiniest amount of sweat in the speaker it starts crackling and then sounds like it’s “underwater” on one side. It’s super annoying. I really wanted to like these. If you don’t sweat then maybe these are ok for you but I usually run outside and can’t use them.

I hqve purchased every interation ever since, and I have never seen such a generational improvement than this latest one. Almost a 5 star. Only complaint is that in loud environments it’s sometimes hard to hear. Running next to a busy road with cars I can hardly hear what I’m listening to. But battery life and comfort are great.

Does not go well with glasses
While the headset on its own works really well, for anyone with glasses, it gets uncomfortable very fast, even causing headaches that worsen the longer you wear it unfortunately. I want to like the product so bad, but it does not work for me.

High quality with great sound. I can hear the music perfectly while still experiencing the world around me. Exactly what I was looking for. Good note for runners. These don’t bounce around at all. At least on my head, but to have no bounce is great and one of the things I was worried about causing a possible chafing area. They have sat still the entire time.

I had my last set of Shokz for almost 6 years. That model is no longer made. I feel like the sound is not quite as good on my new ones. I miss the magnetic charge connection and worry that the new charge cover is a potential fail point, and it's harder to manage in the dark.

Hard Pass
I bought my headphones in May 2026 from a local retailer. Worked great for a couple months, but now having issues. Headphones will charge as the LED lights up when plugged in, but the actual headphones will not power on. I recently PCS'd from Hawaii to Georgia and the original receipt was lost during the move. Tried to submit a warranty claim, but was told they can't do anything without a receipt. If anyone needs a paperweight feel free to hit me up.

Pros and Cons compared to the first iteration
The "texture" of the sound is a little better than the first iteration. Two things that I don't like: 1. with the second version there is no recurring warning when the battery is super low, so they will just power down when out of battery. 2. the first version sounded really good when you would put ear plugs in, but the second version you can barely hear with ear plugs in. My guess is there is less bone conduction with the second version.

I’ve had to replace these after about a year two separate times. Just out of warranty. That’s a company could care less about its customers too. They have some limits on shipping that’s no fault of the consumer and their response was oh well contact the post office about it. I would not recommend this company or headphones to my enemies.

Suboptimal Positioning
I want to love these, but I find the sound quality isn’t as good after I wear them for a while and the back band slips down toward the nape of my neck. If the band stayed straight back, then it would line up well with where it should sit in front of my ears, but when it slides down, the part by the ear moves up. This causes the sound to be worse. I wish there was a way to prevent this. I ordered the mini size as well.

The previous model headset had a magnetic Electronic connection where you could just put the charging cord near it, and it would automatically mag draw to the headset, the current model you have to unplug a rubber connector and then insert a charging cable in a specific direction and in a specific orientation, very difficult compared to the old one if I had a choice, I would go back from the current model to the previous model for charging, but the sound for the current model is much better

Decent
This is my first pair of open-ear headphones, so I'm not sure what to expect. The fit is okay; they seem a little looser than I might've expected (the band at the back hangs down at an angle off my ears), but I've run a bunch of miles with them and they're comfortable. I don't imagine open-ear headphones will ever have the bass response of in-ear or over-the-ear headphones. The audio can be adjusted to several settings in the Shokx app.
