Q: Since these are “open ear”, can other people hear what you’re listening to and your phone calls?
submitted by Jay - 8 months ago
A: Hi Jay- Shokz here! The OpenRun Pro, utilizing bone conduction, are designed to keep your ears open while providing a private listening experience, meaning others generally cannot hear your music or calls. While minimal, high-volume audio might be slightly audible to someone in very close proximity. Please reach out to our Customer Happiness Team if you have any other questions. Thank you!

Better than expected
I’m a dinosaur who’s never used headphones or earbuds or whatever. I finally decided to listen to ebooks while rucking (and wanted to still be able to hear car/trail noise). These are perfect!

Sound gets very annoying when turned up high. Can't hear anything when cars pass by or any loud noise occurs. Sound quality feels cheap like something I'd get off of Temu. Only pro is that I like how they don't fall off.

Refurbished open run
I purchased the refurbished OpenRun headphones. Overall, the sound quality is acceptable; however, I occasionally experience noticeable static. I'm not sure whether this is related to the fact that they are refurbished, but it does occur from time to time. I also experienced some discomfort on the top of my ears after wearing them. While they work well in quieter environments, they may not be the best choice for use on a treadmill or in other noisy settings, as the surrounding noise can make it difficult to hear clearly. In those situations, a different type of headphone may be a better option.

Open run pro - 4 yr review
I purchased the open run pro in 2022. Since that time I've been using it daily for running, biking, work and just about anything else. They have performed excellent, to the point I'll wear them on an airplane with earplugs. no issues and the sound is great. Just ordered my second pair.

Not like previous pairs
This is my third pair of SHOKZ headphones. I loved everything about my first two pair. . Both of my previous pair had much louder & better sound quality than this pair does. Very disappointed in the way they sound. Not sure I’ll be purchasing another set. They’re also not nearly as colossally comfortable behind the ears. My previous pair I could barely feel that I was wearing them, this pair has a noticeable amount of pressure behind my ears

EXACTLY what I wanted!
I wear a headset that has in-ear speakers A LOT! After a while my ear canals become sore and irritated. The bone conduction headset by Shokz eliminates that issue. The ease at which I can increase/decrease the volume, take phone calls via bluethtooth, and the other functions available is very convenient. I was concerned that people could not hear me clearly when making phone calls, but they said the could hear me clearly in my normal speaking voice. I didn't have to yell for them to hear me as the built-in mic works very well. Battery life lasts quite well, as I wear the headset practically from sunup to sundown. I purchased a refurbushed headset with a one year warranty and if they keep performing as they do now, I do not anticipate needing to utilize the warranty service. I am 100% satisfied with them. If these no longer perform after the one year warranty expires, I will purchase a brand new set.

Sucks with a pony tail
I loved everything about the sound and fit. When I ran with a long tail in, it would hit the back of the shocks and make it bounce. It was quite annoying.

Ripped off.
I was absolutely robbed. The product only works out of one side. I tried endless troubleshooting options thinking i did something wrong but the online reviews definitely say that if there is no vibration on one side then it's a hardware issue. But now it's past 30 days and I'm forced to own this defective product.

Hello - Shokz here! We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. In this case, we'd suggest a manual reset of the headphones. If the reset doesn't resolve the issues, all Shokz come with a 2-year warranty. Please reach out to us if you need further assistance. Thank you!

Surprised
The sound is surprisingly crisp and the volume is quite sufficient. My only suggestion I have is that that future models have a greater range of sound customization beyond “music” and “speech”.
