Essential
I don’t sort loads by color. When I’m washing something new and I’m afraid of colors bleeding, I’ll toss in one or two of these. Even if there aren’t any new clothes in the load, if there is a mix of very light with very dark, I’ll add one of these sheets. Sometimes it’s clear that they’ve collected dye! I’ve been using these for several years (maybe 4?) and I haven’t had issues with colors bleeding since using them. I keep them stocked and I recommend them.

Disappointing
This color catcher from Shout does not work very well. I normally use a color catcher in my delicate cold wash to keep the light color clothes from getting dingy. I just bought a new white shirt, and after one wash with the Shouts color catcher sheet the shirt did not look like a new bright white shirt at all. I had to bleach it twice to return the shirt to the original bright color. I also bought two black sweatshirts, washed only those items together and the color catcher sheet hardly absorbed any dye from the new sweatshirts. Luckily, I only bought the 24 pack and I do not plan to repurchase this item.

There is no strong fragrance, which I like because it doesn’t interfere with the scent of my detergent. The efficacy is really impressive — the sheets actually trap the extra dye during the wash and prevent colors from bleeding onto lighter clothing. I tested them with mixed loads and the sheet came out tinted, showing it captured the dye, while my clothes stayed the right color. Not sure if it's worth risking whites

I didn't see any major color bleed from my laundry but it seemed to have captured a bunch of dirt. Don't really know if it worked or not, unless you're willing to risk all your whites with a bright red dress and this product. Might just continue to separate whites and colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, it was difficult to find. Once I did, I was curious. It has no smell and it feels like thick paper. I threw one in to my dryer with both colors and whites. They came out without bleeding on each other. The sheet itself remained white and ended up in the lint trap. I don’t usually wash my colors and whites together but this would be a good product for those who are in a rush or with limited options. This product does work.

Thick paper that didn’t tear apart!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This would probably work better for newer clothing that is still losing color. I haven’t bought new clothing in awhile and tried to washed a random load in hopes to see some color on the catcher. I did not. I have seen these used effectively on quilting forums to catch colors on new quilts that need laundering. I look forward to trying it again when I either buy new cloths of finish a quilt. The paper did stay together nicely and didn’t tear apart. I would be interested to see how many time you could use one paper before you would need to dispose of it. It didn’t have an overpowering smell it was very subtle.
