Q: whas the differance between m1500 & m1600

A: The 2 models are very similar in function and features. There are some cosmetic differences, but they will use the same accessories etc. They are both front load 15 class bobbin machines, Both have a 4 step buttonhole and the same stitch selection.

Jams up repeatedly
Only recently actually took it out of the box to use. After trying to hem one pair of pants, the issues started. The thread breaks easily and the bobbin jams up constantly. What should have taken minutes ended up taking hours just because the machine kept malfunctioning. Everything was set up exactly according to the instructions, yet it’s a struggle to sew even the lightest fabric. The stitch selections also aren’t as robust as claimed. I would highly recommend to keep on looking.

Product came as described. But I was extremely disappointed in the way it was shipped. No target box or packaging. Literally they threw a sticker on the sewing machine box itself and left it at my door. 1) anyone could have seen what the item was and taken it. 2) this was supposed to be a surprise for my daughter. And as she walked up to the front door. She clearly saw what one of her Christmas gifts were. . . Cmon.

First of all the description is a lie! This machine only has 6 stitch not 57!!??! It’s very very tiny! Returning it! Oh and it was delivered a block away! Thankfully I have great neighbors and they came and dropped it off.

Auto threader is difficult to use but machine is worth buying
When I first opened the box, I was excited to get started but spent 2 hours trying to use the “automatic threader”. I bought this model specifically for that feature, and could not figure out how to get it to work. I watched the videos and read the manual, plus watched other YouTube tutorials—still didn’t get it. However, I was able to manually thread the needle and everything else works great, which is why I still give it 5 stars. I love the variety of stitches and styles, and the ease of use.

Beware
DO NOT BUY. This is absolutely the worst sewing machine imaginable. My needle has already snapped in half, I’ve had to take apart the machine to undo a snag TWICE, and the treads constantly come undone during sewing. I would never recommend.

Incorrect Description, But a Good Machine
I've just started using mine, but so far it seems like a nice smaller machine thats very beginner friendly because it doesn't have too many bells and whistles. My one complaint is that the description of the machine is not correct-the description lists over 50 different stitches in multiple places, but it can only do 12 different stitches (the ones you can see on the wheel in the pictures). As far as I can tell, that's the only thing that is incorrect in the description and it's still a good machine, but it is something to be aware of.

On the Singer web page for the Singer model M1500 sewing machine, below the description, under "Specifications" it indicates what a Stitch Application is and the number of applications as well as the number of Built-in Stitches. The 6 Built-in stitch patterns are capable of 57 stitch applications. A Stitch Application is a singular sewing technique that can be accomplished with a given stitch pattern. There are some stitch selections that will have several different sewing techniques that are possible. Some other stitches will have only one or a few sewing techniques that can be done. Perfect for Someone Looking for a new hobby
Singer is the best!! With being home I was trying to find a new hobby for my teenage daughter. I didn't want to send too much money on the super expensive machines that are intimidating to use, but I also wanted some options for her to have fun with. This machine is perfect for the beginner.

Great Singer Sewing Machine
This machine runs very smooth and quiet! I decided to learn how to sew for something new this year. Right now I just started making COVID masks and henned some pants. I am looking forward to trying all the fancy stitches!! Also love the auto thread and it's a nice size machine.

Easy to use
