A: Description states that it can be used in dry goods like flour but does not say they are food safe.

Lacquer can be food safe for some uses, but it's not recommended for cutting or chopping surfaces and wood that has been stained and finished can be food safe, as long as the finish has cured and dried. I love these little wooden scoops. They are so useful. They fit my storage jars just perfectly. They look so cute and are easy to grab inside the jars. They are easy to wash and I must add they should be dried immediately so the wood will not get damaged.

Love how cute these small wooden spoons are. They are small enough to fit in a jar but wide enough to get a good scoop out. They have a deep scoop & the quality of the spoons are great! They work great scooping any dry.

The size & shape are perfect however when you smell it closely you can sense a very slight unpleasant smell of lacquered the coating I guess. I will keep it for gardening. So sad coz I really like its look, thought to use it for cereal or rice but I don’t want to be risking on food safety.

These scoops are SO cute! They’re super sturdy and look like they will hold up over time. I’m not going to use them in my kitchen, as in, no need to wash them constantly, but, I’d assume with this material, you do not soak them in water and hand dry immediately. I’m going to use them in my cats food container to scoop their food out. It’s the perfect size!
