Q: Does this fit a 5 pound bag of flour?
A: 16 0z in a lb so 16 x5 =80 oz- it should fit!
submitted byEva Z - 5 years agoA: A previous responder answered based on weight, not volume. A 5lb bag of flour has a volume of about 4.5 quarts or 144 oz. An entire bag of flour or sugar would not fit in this canister.

submitted byPatricia - 5 years agoTarget staff supportA: I bought this and a 5lb bag of whole wheat flour. Keeping in mind that we flour is a small amount heavier than white all purpose, it fit after I gently compressed it. If you bake and have a flour shaker to dust surfaces, filling that should take out just enough for it to fit packed. I bake by gram weight, so compacted flour won’t affect my recipes but if you measure by loosely scooped cups, you should fluff it up before scooping.

Q: Is the lid airtight?
A: This is not a air tight lid. I thought it sealed nice but this morning ants was inside of it. Had to throw out all my sugar. Nice container I'll definitely find another use for it.

Q: Can I use this container to refrigerate the soup?
A: I wouldn’t. The lid is made out of wood with a silicone ring to seal the canister when closed. The wood inside the container would be exposed to the soup and condensation. Works absolutely fantastic for dry goods in the pantry.
