Melinda Lee Rathjen grew up in southern Illinois, reading past her bedtime whenever she could get away with it. As the little bunny goes throughout his day enjoying a meadow full of flowers, playing lots of different games, and eating yummy food, he always hears, "somebunny loves you." Who is it that snuggles with him, goes along with him, and swings him around? Little ones will like all the demonstrations of love, along with the good feelings that come from them. This board book has beautiful, colorful illustrations that show how much they are cared for. While reading this story, ask your child if they can guess who loves them. In the end, did they figure it out? Children through age four will enjoy the rhyming words, story and pictures in the five-star, feel good, board book! Thank you, Worthy Kids for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.

“Perfect for sharing a sweet moment together, this story reminds little ones that ‘Somebunny’ loves them–and that Somebunny is you!” the back jacket states in Melinda Lee Rathjen’s children’s book, Somebunny Loves You! ~ What ~ This eighteen-page board book with rounded corners targets children two to four years old who love bunnies and are told how much they are loved. With no scary scenes, the book contains sophomoric illustrations that will keep the attention of little ones. An easy-to-read font covers the pages. After an ownership page, this short story involves an adorable baby bunny playfully romping outside among the grass, trees, and flowers. Through rhymes, he is told that from the start a special “somebunny” loves him. Whether playing hide or seek, building a fort, eating berries, swinging, or drifting off to sleep, the bunny is cherished and loved by someone special. ~Why ~ This is a cute tale that a child and parent can read together to help confirm and bond their love. Both bunnies are charming as the colorful pages depict bees, butterflies, and dragonflies that a little one can look at. I appreciate the tale mentions finding God’s joy every day. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not like repetitive wording in books may want to skip this one that repeats “Somebunny loves you” on every opened page. Those who do not believe in God may not approve of the book’s mention of Him. ~ Wish ~ It would be nice to have a few more small bugs or animals in the scenes to catch a child’s attention. ~ Want ~ If you want a book that reminds a young one that he or she is truly loved, this is a keeper. Thanks to Hachette Book Group, WorthyKids, and the author for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
