Top quality
So far so excellent. Pairs perfectly with the new Sony Bravia 8 II which itself has a good sound system. As an avid movie watcher the Theatre Bar 9 is extraordinary. Watched Dune as the first movie - lights out - OMG. In the Cinema experience.

Fantastic soundbar, the 360 spatial technology works very well, especially with Atmos. I’ve paired it with a Bravia 9, very easy config/setup, the s center is a nice feature. The TV stand in high mode and the bar are perfectly matched from an aesthetic perspective.

Dissapointing
I purchased this Sony Bravia Theater Bar 9 soundbar because it matches my excellent Bravia 8 TV, but so far I am somewhat underwhelmed by the soundbar's performance as I'm not hearing much sound separation / direction. The soundbar also desperately needs a digital readout advising what type of sound input it is actually receiving / processing (eg mono, stereo, Dolby Atmos, DTS etc). I assume the soundbar's performance would be enhanced by the matching Sony sub and rear speakers but their prices are extortionate.

Superb upgrade
Always bought Sony Bravias but this latest model surpasses them all. Excellent picture quality and sound, especially linked up to a Sony Soundbar. Built in Google TV makes using apps far easier. A must buy for anyone wanting to upgrade.

Great soundbar cheap app.
The soundbar it's self is very good, but one star removed because the app is rubbish. Doesn't see my microphone on my phone. Even though the green dot says it's in use. Doesn't always connect to the soundbar. Have found out this is sometimes due to the VPN. Not always. Plus the soundbar doesn't always change to HDMI 2 automatically. Costs a lot of money would think the app would be a lot better. Don't like the fact there is no menu on the soundbar it's self. Think removing the celebration mic was a mistake.

Perfect partner to the Sony Bravia 8 ii 65” TV
Brought this to go with new Bravia 8 ii 65” TV Sits perfect in the space under the TV. Was a little bit of hassle getting the Bravia Connect App to work, had to reset the Soundbar to sort it. But now it’s all working I’m really pleased. When Sony bring out a pair of rear speakers that aren’t battery operated I will add them to the system. With the lights off when watching a movie it’s like being at the cinema but with the comforts of home.

All the noise you need!
The first soundbar that I have ever bought and boy is it a good one! Having a fairly small living room, we don't have the room for a full surround sound theatre system, but this soundbar does the job without any wires or Bluetooth messing about. Normal TV sounds excellent and movies are outstanding as the bar creates phantom speakers giving the effect of a full surround system. Complements the new Sony TV perfectly and I managed to get a great discount deal on both to put the icing on the cake 🍰

Let down by controls.
The remote - borderline useless. All needed controls must be done through the app. That is also terrible and often disconnects from my soundbar. At this point the minimal display should be a requirement. As should a reliable, intuitive remote.

To help with the remote connectivity, please try power cycling the soundbar by unplugging it from the power for about two minutes, then take the batteries out from the remote and press every button twice to discharge the power. If possible try replacing the batteries for new ones and test it. It's also a good idea to check for any potential wireless interference—routers or other wireless devices placed close to the soundbar can affect the remote signals. Moving them slightly further away may help. Lastly, make sure your soundbar's software is up to date, as updates often include stability improvements that can resolve connectivity issues. Installation missed, Poor support, Avoid
Two weeks after purchase, my Sony UK installation service has been an unacceptable failure. We have endured four missed appointments, and our expensive item is still sitting unused in its original box. The support communication is painfully slow and fails to offer proactive updates or resolutions. For a premium brand, this level of service is profoundly disappointing and frustrating. This entire experience has turned excitement into regret.

Never going back!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never had a large soundbar like this before, but I LOVE it! It provides a surround sound experience without having speakers need to be placed around the room and it’s compact but still is aesthetically pleasing so it will have a great spot on my mantle. It connected seamlessly to my TV and phone and I’m very excited to keep using it for both music and watching TV.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to confess that I was sceptical at first as I thought the sound output from our TV was pretty good but wow does the Bravia theatre bar raise the bar (pun intended!!). I’m always a bit anxious about setting up any new tech especially as the instructions provided were 'brief' to say the least ….basically scan a QR code, download the app and complete each simple step. Within 30minutes the bar was unboxed, connected and ready to go. The next challenge was to decide what to watch. The TV guide offered plenty of quiz shows and sit coms but an endless stream of celebrities wittering on hardly seemed much of a test for this impression looking bit of kit so we settled on a Lord of the Rings DVD. Firstly we watched 45 minutes without the Bravia connected then the same 45 minutes (fair testing and all that) with the theatre bar. Wow what a difference! A rich full bodied sound filled the room while the dialogue was crisp and clear. Using the app we could modify the sound quality to suit our particular preferences. It would be an exaggeration to say it felt like being in the cinema, I didn’t have an annoying tall person fidgeting and talking in from of me, but boy in terms of the surround sound quality it was close. Next to give it a thorough work out I connected it, via Bluetooth, to my music collection. Now I’m not an expert on TV and film but I am picky about my music and again WOW! Whether a bit of overblown progressive rock ,sonorous if a little gloomy Leonard Cohen or a touch of high brow classical the room was filled with sound. It even received top marks from my 18 year granddaughter who commandeered the set up with a few friends for musical evening of their own. All in all a really great product. Elegant and well built, easy to set up and control and most importantly it really enhanced the sound quality for TV programmes, film and music.

From headphones to speakers and soundbar, Sony is consistent in producing devices with impressive sound quality. I tested this Bravia Theater Bar through the Dolby Atmos sound test via Youtube and it felt like I was in a movie theater! It passed the surround sound as well as clearly identifying the moving audio. This sound bar boasts a cinema-style surround sound with 360 spatial sound mapping and it’s absolutely true based based on my personal experience. It has 13 speakers units which definitely helped deliver a crisp and clear sound with powerful bass. The app was okay, didn’t really use it much after downloading it, maybe only once and that was it. But, if you’re the type of person who loves to customize audio settings then you would definitely often use the app. I like how you can easily connect devices through this sound bar, I can play spotify music through my phone and I love the sound quality experience. Highly recommend and so thankful for influenster for giving me a chance to try this amazing sound bar from Sony!
