I had WH-G500 two weeks ago. Great accessory for gaming, listening to music, watching TV on the computer, and so on. The sound quality is not the best, but it's good for the money you spend on it. The phones are also comfortable when used for a long time.

Had this a couple of weeks now so no report on longevity but it's a huge step up from my previous Sony set. Ear pads are super comfortable and suitable for long play. Battery life excellent and the sound is really great for this level of tech. Apparently my voice is clear through the boom mic and it's no problem during use. Set up was simple with a fair amount of options. For the price I think these are great.

I received this less than a month ago and had high hopes. The headset came packaged very professionally and the box is worth keeping! It came with everything necessary, including the cables, manual and even some stickers! It took less than 2 hours for the headset to charge to 100% (USB C charging) and is still at around 50%! I use it every night for when I play Deep Rock Galactic on my PC and also Fortnite on my PS5. The audio quality is great, and I appreciate the game/chat buttons to level out which one I want to hear more. The headset itself is very comfortable, the padding is very soft and doesn’t irritate whatsoever. I used to use Steelseries however I now use this headset as my main headset and the other is a spare.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given these headsets as part of product testers program,on receiving them I was pleased with the well packaged appearance,I found connecting to my ps5 was a easy process so tried them on my windows 11 computer again a easy connection.I found them very comfortable during my gameplay and the sound was amazing especially the spatial sound and the way the headset picks up the mic when I’m talking a good Balance between game sound and mic.The buttons are simple and robust better than some fiddly ones I’ve had in the past I love the instant ability to mute the mic with a simple lift up of mic arm,to sum up I’m really impressed by the quality of sound and looks well designed with practical functionality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sony Inzone H5 Wireless gaming Headset is a very comfortable headset. I can honestly say this is the most comfortable gaming headset I have had. I have only used it for the PlayStation 5 and highly recommend for any enthusiastic gamer. They provide a crystal clear sound whilst also offering a great range of bass that isn't too overpowering. Really gives you a great gaming experience. I found the headset really easy to connect, doesn't drop out and very responsive. Battery life is fantastic, since using them and I've used them a lot, I haven't needed to charge these as yet. It has a nice feature where you press a button on the headset and it tells you what battery percentage you have left. It provides 360 Spatial Sound especially for gaming which is a great benefit. When using the microphone its super easy to use, you pull the boom down when you want to chat and push it up when you are finished, no need to muck around with finding buttons. This headset is super durable which is great when you have little ones around. All in all these are a great investment, super easy to use, great quality and really comfortable.
Best headset I've had.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some of my favourite features of this headset are that you can use it wired which makes it easier in an online situation where I don't have to charge it. the feel of the new material is really comfortable to wear for long periods of time and it doesn't feel heavy at all. The sound quality is sensational. I can hear all things going on around me as if I'm actually in the game. I can't even hear what is going on around me it's that good! talking through the microphone is very crisp. overall a I really rate this headset and would recommend to other people in need of a solid choice of headset.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Inzone H5 gaming headphones from Sony are at first sight a very attractive proposal. They sit firmly in the mid-range pricing between the wired H3 and the more expensive H7 and H9. They look quality: matt white hard surround with contrasting soft black padding for the headband and earcups, using as I suspect the PlayStation 5 casing colours design. They arrived in Eco packaging. Upon placement, they are very light (260g) and comfortable. The top arc of the headband is soft and even over the head, allowing for hours of use with very little discomfort. The headband is smoothly adjustable within the plastic black and white mountings either side of the central headband and doesn’t seem to slip during use. The earcups are even softer than the headband, completing the pleasant wearing experience. Initially I am impressed with the seal over the ears, removing a great deal of ambient noise, even before they are turned on. With 28 hours of battery life from a full charge, I can’t imagine running short after an evening’s play. Even if you do, 10 mins charge provides 3 hours of play if you did forget to charge them the night before. They come with a USB charging cable, no charger of course. There is limited sound functionality on the headset, however Sony’s Inzone Hub provides a great improvement to the sound quality with its Spatial Audio. There is no Bluetooth connectivity, but they quickly connect every time through the provided USB dongle with a PC / PlayStation switch. The left cup provides the microphone with a very useful mute function when moved up past your eyeline and clicks back and forth to confirm you are muted or not. There is a nice volume “wheel”, my preference for any headphone volume adjuster that you move by touch alone. Then there’s a 3.5mm jack, useful with the cable provided as it’s lacking that Bluetooth connection. Finally, the USB C charging port. The right cup provides a power button (press and hold to turn off and on) and a set of two buttons that allows you to increase the chat or game volume to suit. The sound is good but distant, clearly not designed for high quality music, but more than adequate for gaming. It’s lacking in full range, mainly base and depth, but it is compatible with Sony’s Inzone Hub which has pre-set options. Noise cancellation appears effective, even at low volumes. Overall, I like the fact that they light and comfortable, quick to connect and the controls are easy to use. And they are affordable, clearly filling the gap in Sony’s range, making them a go-to option for those on a budget.

IN MY ZONE A VERY GOOD GAMING HEADSET

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] IN MY ZONE A VERY GOOD GAMING HEADSET (Review of Sony INZONE H5 Wireless Gaming Headset) BACKGROUND Testing this headset was carried out at home whilst connected via the transceiver to my desktop PC and also used to listen to music from my Sony hi-fi and Sony mobile to test the wired connection. Various music was tried out as well as sound from PC games and Zoom sessions with friends and family. I am a male pensioner living in Bedford and own a number of Sony products including a Sony audio/video setup including TV, audio/video receiver, UHD player, maxi hi-fi and mobile phone. I also use Sony ear buds when out walking, connected to my mobile. As an older tester/music lover I have various headphones to compare with and PC games to try out but do not own a PS5. DELIVERY The parcel arrived safely on time with no damage to the outer covering. INITIAL IMPRESSION The box design was well made, eye catching, showing the contents clearly and protected the delicate product within. The box printing was clear and easy to read. On opening the box you see a tray holding: • Two connecting cables, one USB-A to USB-C for charging and the other a 3.5mm angled stereo jack plug to a straight 3.5mm stereo jack plug for wired use of the headset. • The Guarantee, some stickers and the Reference Guide. Remove the tray and the headset becomes fully visible. And what a sight it is. Sitting in the purpose built packing it oozes class. The transceiver is also here and has a standard USB-A connector and a source selector switch for PC/PS5. Another plus point was the lack of plastic in the packaging, a gold star for Sony! The frame of the headset is solid, feels strong and should resist knocks easily whilst the softer areas around the top and ears is extremely comfortable from the off. The right side has a selector for game/chat mode (use ‘chat’ for non-gaming) and the on/off switch with accompanying LED to give feedback whilst the left side has a rotating microphone arm, the volume control, two sockets to connect cables and a charging LED. LEARNING HOW THEY WORK Inside the box lid there is a 1-2-3 diagram to get you started. 1 has a Q code that takes you to the Help Guide which is clear and simple to follow, getting you up and running quickly. 2 and 3 on the box show what to do if you cannot read the Q code, setting the source to PC or Play Station 5, plugging the transceiver into the USB-A port and turning the headset on. It also points to the INZONE Hub software which allows fine tuning of the headset (see below). The Reference Guide is once again in quite small type, some users may struggle with that, and covers the points regarding safety and charging although there is no charger included in the box. The online Help Guide covers the details the Reference Guide omits and is a necessary read to get the best out of the headset, not so good if you have no computer. FEATURES Indicator Lights The headset and the transceiver both have lights to show their status. The headset lights can be white, orange and off whilst the transceiver shows only white but uses flashing to indicate the status to you. The headset show status for power, wireless connection, software update, rechargeable battery and charging. The transceiver shows wireless connectivity and software update status. These are very useful if you are having problems. Charging the Headset/Battery Life This is a simple process without issues. The time to charge the headset is about 3½ hours using a USB AC adaptor (>500 mA) and a full charge should last 28 hours (Sony Guide). You can also connect to a PC USB outlet but the charge time may be longer. Always use the supplied USB cable and disconnect once completed. A short charge of 10 minutes should give you around three hours use. The charging LED shows orange whilst charging and goes off when complete. INZONE Hub (https://www.sony.net/inzonehub-support) Available from the Sony Support site and should be checked out early to get the best from the headset. The opening display shows the battery state of the headset and the on/off status of the microphone. The menu has three items and below that a settings icon. The right side shows the windows for the menu selected, Sound Settings by default. • Menu Options 1. Sound Settings – Used to adjust the headset to your preference 2. Device Settings – Two windows – General Settings and System Software Information 3. App Sync Settings – To manage the Custom settings • Sound Settings This has four windows although you need to scroll to see them all. They are Sound Profile, Spatial Sound, Volume and Microphone. Note that these adjustments do not work when headset is set to ‘Chat’ mode. Sound Profile - This is subdivided into three sections: Sound Profile You get a default profile but you can set up new custom profiles and select them here. Equalizer Here you can choose between Flat (no effect), Bass Boost (emphasis on the lows), Music and Video (slight boost for bass and drop for high end) and Custom where you set up whatever you wish. Changes to any are stored in the Custom option, only one option per sound profile. Dynamic Range Control As expected this adjusts the range between minimum and maximum volume. This can be set to Off, Low and High. High appears to give the best results. Spatial Sound – Two sections – Spatial Sound and Sound Field Personalization Spatial Sound This setting is Off/On and expands the sound stage of the sound. Sound Field Personalisation Sony offer this if you photo your ears with the relevant app to improve the sound further. Volume – Two sections – Master Volume and Game/Chat Balance Both of these can be adjusted but just reflect the controls on the headset. Note that on a PC you can only select one of the modes as output in sound settings. That means you need to set the balance to 100% for your choice in this app. Microphone – Four sections – Microphone Volume, Audio Gain Control, Microphone Test and Sidetone Microphone Volume This controls the volume sent to the transceiver. Audio Gain Control This controls the level of sensitivity of the microphone. Microphone Test This enables the ‘listening end’ to hear you to do a level check. Sidetone This adjuster makes it easier to talk and assists the microphone to pick up sounds and play your voice naturally. Overall these settings are useful for personal preferences. Mine are to leave Dynamic Range on High, Spatial Sound on and Equalizer on Music/Video. That covers most of my uses as I don’t have a PS5. The Settings icon enables another window with the option to launch INZONE Hub at PC Startup as well as links to Support, Registration, EUL, Privacy Policy and License Information. You can also give your consent for product development purposes • Device Settings This section allows you to set the automatic power off/on switch to save battery life and the time interval before this activates from 5 mins to 3 hrs. The Vocal Notification language can also be set here although there is a very limited choice (English, Japanese or Chinese). The System Software versions for headset and transceiver are also shown. • App Sync Settings This allows you to add or delete apps but I was unable to effect any changes through it so its use remains a mystery. Comfort The headset is light at 260g and is easily adjusted to size with sliders built into the over the head band. The side pressure is less than other headphones I own and is better for it, increasing the level of comfort. Another plus point is that it fits perfectly over my hearing aids, a real benefit for older listeners. With the concentrated use during this evaluation I expected to get some reaction to my ears being enclosed for hours at a time but the comfort level has been very high and my wife can vouch for the external sound being reduced significantly! The soft covers are replaceable but I have not needed to attempt that yet. Microphone and Noise Cancelling The side microphone comes into play by lowering the arm to be near your mouth and works very well. I tested this by creating Zoom sessions and using the headset for conversations. The people listening thought that my voice was clearer than when I used my usual mic for the job and I will use the headset in future. The Sidetone setting in the INZONE Hub can be used to improve the noise cancelling within the microphone and works well. Connecting with other devices Although you lose the ability to adjust the headset settings by not using the transceiver it is still possible to use the supplied cable to plug into headphone jack sockets on other appliances. The angled end of the cable should be plugged into the sending equipment and the straight end into the headset. I used it with my Sony mid-range hi-fi and Sony mobile and found the sound more than acceptable and compares favourably with other headphones I own but feel that the depth of the bass when listening to music is less than can be achieved using a PC and could be improved. Water Resistance The headset is not water resistant and care should be taken whilst in use. Ease of Use Overall, the headset is easy to set up, use and maintain and should give years of use if cared for. Value At the current price the headset sits between the lower priced and the upper range Sony headsets. Compared to rival headsets around the same price this headset looks value for money. Would I Recommend This Headset? Looking at my lifestyle I can see it becoming a key item for me. It works with my PC and the audio/video software that I use and the built in microphone will make web chats and Zoom meetings much easier for people to hear me. Being wireless will also make recording vocals much easier with no cable to be troublesome for backing tracks and playback. In summary, it is a great all-round headset and I would be happy to recommend the INZONE H5 to anyone who is looking for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick Overview Pros Good price - you get quite a lot for your money Nice sleek modern design - two colour options Solid sound Very comfortable Wireless or wired Fantastic battery life Cons Microphone is not the best in class Headphones feel a little bit plasticky Overall these are a very decent pair of headphones. They slot in nicely between H3 and H7s and compare very well to their typical competitors around the same price point. I've upgraded from the H3 and the improvements are clear - i definitely recommend the Inzone H5s. Design The H5s follow the same design as the previous H3 / H7 /H9. They feature the same shape, same sleek white colour (although they have also launched in black), and the same nice padded headband and earcups. Sony havent really changed the design for these and thats a good thing in my view - it works and works well. They feature a nice big volume control wheel on the left earcup - this has no hard stop and will spin freely in either direction - i like this and the feel in game is good too, nicely stepped volume changes. The left earcup also features the usb-c charging port and standard 3.5mm wired jack. We also have a flip up/down microphone and when in the up position - the microphone is muted - which is a very handy feature. On the other earcup, we have the power button and the game/chat button - this allows you to alter the sound balance to favour in game sounds or chat which is very handy. Comfort The H5s are a very very comfortable pair of headphones. I have had no issue at all wearing them for extended gaming sessions and not once have found them uncomfortable. They are very light which helps add to the comfort. The materials used are nice and soft and the headband has a nice wide range of adjustment to suit smaller or larger heads Sound Pretty impressive sound for a midrange headphone! Decent bass - its not the most bass heavy set ive used but there is enough there to be enjoyable when things get pumping. High range performance is also pretty good. One minor issue - the headphones do let in a bit of external noise, its not a huge amount but can be noticeable depending on what your playing at the time. The other only minor point here is the microphone. Its not amazing. Its ok, a little muffled and does the job. To sum up, i think your hard pressed to find a better headset at this price point. This does everything you would expect and more. No problem at all recommending the H5s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my inzone H5 gaming headphones. Once out of the box connected to my pc with the transceiver and setup no problem. The fabric padding makes the headphones very comfortable to wear and the noise isolation is fantastic. The left side muff holds the volume wheel and the usb-c charging port, the right hand side power and the game and chat buttons. The headphones are lightweight and they look good. With long battery life and good connectivity. Lastly the sound is what you get with Sony precise and smooth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having never used gaming headphones before I was really looking forward to trying the Sony Inzone H5 and can happily say I’m impressed. They have great sound, are very comfortable, and are easy to setup. The headphones are charged via the included USB-C cable and come with a 3.5mm cable to attach for wired use. You simply plug the USB adapter into your PS5 (or PC), select the correct device via the switch on the USB adapter, switch on the device, power up the headphones, and connection was pretty much instant. The weight and comfort were immediately apparent; cosy without the feeling of having weights on the side of your head. I also tested them with my PlayStation Portal and again they did not disappoint. Once connected to your PlayStation, switch on the Portal and connect to your PS5. Then, turn the volume off on your Portal and you can just have sound via the headphones. My use does refer only to the PlayStation 5 as I do not have a PC. I believe the sound will be loud enough for most although personally I would have liked a little more volume. Having also tried them on my Hi-Fi (just out of curiosity) I would say these headphones are definitely suited more for the gaming side of things rather than listening to music which unfortunately sounded very tinny via the included cable. Overall, a great accessory from Sony to enhance one’s gaming experience.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this new headset! It's light, comfortable and wireless and has great quality audio. Things I love about them: - Really comfortable. The headband is padded and expands to fit even my head with ease. - Lightweight, so no stiff neck after wearing them all day. - The mic switches on/off automatically. So when lifted, the mic is off. When down, it's activated. Simple. - Wireless. I didn't know I wanted a wireless headset until I got one! It's a game changer! Need to get up to get a drink, or something off the printer, or to let the cat out? Well, now you don't fall over the wires anymore! - Volume control on the headset is easy with an accessible dial. Maximum volume is impressively loud. - Quality audio - even at low volume, the quality is crisp and clear. - 3.5mm jack to allow for wired connection is really good if you run out of battery and need to stay on a call. Note - to get the most out of the headset, you should download the INZONE app. But, actually, the headset works perfectly without it so it's not essential. And the app is free and adds functionality such as better audio configuration, equalisers and more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have experience with other Sony gaming headphones and I must say the H5 are up there with the best. They come in high quality packaging with complete, simple instructions on the packaging or QR code for more detailed instructions. First used on my PC, inserted the supplied dongle, powered up and connection was instant. Sound quality is superb with clear, crisp vocal and musical audio. Volume is easily adjustable with the built in scrolling wheel. Now using on gaming console and the microphone allows for fully immersive gaming with others. The comfort is second to none meaning wearing for extended periods is no problem. Charging is relatively quick and the headphones hold charge for up to 28hrs but I have not had to charge mine for a lot longer than that. Would highly recommend these headphones for all your gaming whether on PS5 or PC.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been testing this at home on a laptop and PS5. I start with the laptop; I started to listen to some music and used the inzone app. To test this properly I listened to a mixture of different styles of music. It connected first time using the usb dongle. I did this whilst doing something else and after a while I forgot I was wearing them. On PS5: using the usb dongle switched to ps5 it connected first time. I think they are very comfortable and light to wear. The mic seems to be loud and clear. The sound both from laptop and ps5 were quality, the bass was not too deep either. The ears were covered nicely and didn’t hurt after an hour of use. The thing I would have liked is the ability to position the mic on my right side; just feels more comfortable for me. I would have liked the usb cable a bit longer but you could buy a longer one if that was a problem. It would be good to do an all over black version

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the sustainable packing the headphones came in. No plastic and this made the disposal so much easier. The sound quality is crystal clear and I can hear people I am talking to very well! The set looks cool and overall it is very responsive when connected to the PS5. The USB is ver easily inserted and I love the wireless connection; even though the set comes with wires if that is your preference. So far I have had no need to charge the headphones so they give a lot of game play time .They are very comfortable and so light on my head - a great USP. We have INZONE H9 too and each headphone set complements the other
