This pot is hard to add the water into. My plants need to be watered from the bottom so I thought this would be perfect. The larger sizes have an opening that is large enough for you to pour into using a watering can. The 6x6 size has a smaller opening that makes it harder to pour water into and see how much water is inside. I love the color and I love the material, just wish they would improve on that part of the design. You can get around this by using a spray bottle.

Unfortunately, after using it and reading Target’s own responses to customer questions, it’s clear that this is not a true self-watering system. Target even acknowledges multiple times that it doesn’t actually function that way. This is very misleading. The name sets the expectation that the pot will regulate water for the plant (like other self-watering planters with a reservoir system), but instead it’s just a standard pot with a base tray. That means I still have to manually water as usual. If Target knows this pot doesn’t self-water, then marketing it under that name is confusing for customers and unfair to those who rely on accurate labeling. At minimum, the product should be renamed or the description updated so buyers understand exactly what they’re getting. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend this product if you’re actually looking for a self-watering planter.

These pots are great. Not super fancy but they work well

Isn’t actually self watering

I loved this so much, I went and bought about ten more. The self watering feature makes this product worth its weight in gold. I’ve spoken with so many folks who say they have a horrible time keeping plants alive. I tell all of them “did you know target has a $3 self watering plant??” And I’ve convinced many of my friends to given gardening a try. I really hope they bring this product out next spring because I’m sure I’ll need more

I have bought this item before, and now again. That should save wake volumes about its quality and design. The base is small enough to fit on a windowsill so your plant can enjoy the sun!

I bought 3 of these for the planner section of my small patio table. The color (black) and size of these pots is perfect.

I thought it was going to be bigger than it is, but it’s the perfect size

I love the aesthetic and that these pots are very affordable. However, proceed with CAUTION if you don’t plan to drill more drainage holes - especially IF POTTING SUCCULENTS in these. I nearly gave root rot to my mature jade plant & aloe plant since there is neither adequate grading towards the existing drainage holes (as purchased) nor is there a sufficient amount of drain holes (as purchased). See before/after pic - the water is draining much better now!
