Description

About the Book

A practical guide to building organizational capability required to turn strategy into outcomes, explaining how to integrate people, skills, technology and governance into a system for execution, adaptation and performance.

Book Synopsis

Does your organization have the capability to deliver its strategy? Do you feel confident in assessing your organization's ability and designing systems to overcome your challenges to ensure you're hitting your targets? If not, this book is exactly what you need to read next.

Increasingly organizations are not delivering on their outlined strategy because they fail to understand or manage capability. Frequently, capability is reduced to skills frameworks, job architectures, headcount, or operating models and as a result, organizations pursue fragmented initiative that whilst individually well-intentioned, collectively fail to compound into sustained performance. By taking a capability-centric view of the organization, a view that integrates people, skills, technology, culture and governance, this book enables leaders to align strategy to execution, manage risk more effectively, and build organizations that adapt and perform in complex, uncertain environments.

Readers of this book will come away able to define their organizational capability in practical, outcome-focused terms. They will then be able to assess whether their organization has the capability to deliver its strategy, design systems that integrate people, skills, knowledge, technology, culture and governance to deliver upon that strategy and therefore build adaptive organizations that can sustain performance under uncertainty and pressure.
