Sun Joe 48-Volt Cordless Garden Vacuum and Mulcher Kit with Batteries, Charger and Collapsible Handle, Mulches Leaves up to Their 1/15th Original Size

Purchased this vacuum mulcher over the summer. Used it 3 times and it works very well. Unfortunately, one of the batteries will not charge above 12vdc even though it only has about 10 hours of run time. Not covered so would need to put base a new one at 65-70 dollars. No trust in batteries so will move on. Have other equipment with batteries years old and have never had to replace one. Cordless is only as good as the batteries. This on is retired and won’t be dealing with this company again.

Power switch is cumbersome to use. Front wheel tends to come off. Intake nozzle is not wide enough, can’t get close to curbs. It does a great job of shredding leaves into fine mulch. As the season is ending it has seemed to loosesucking power. No way to tell if something is blocking chute to bag.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not happy with this product. I have tried using it a couple times and it doesn't seem to have the suction for vacuuming up things outside, even the fine sand that ants had built up on our deck. I would not recommend it.

Will suction up larger leaves but doesn’t work near as well as the electric leaf/lawn vac which gets very close to the ground. You can’t get the suction area closer to the ground…if you try, it automatically shuts off. I’m pretty disappointed. I use the electric lawn vac on my artificial turf & it gets nearly everything except the seed pods that fall from the huge ficus trees.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I really like this tool. For the positives, it helps clean my sidewalks and driveway of any grass trimmings. Using the first time is so easy! Just charge it overnight and you're good to go. It is super light, easy to maneuver, and is easy to start. The charge lasts a LONG time and I love the I no longer have to haul around the heavy gas version I used to have. Now for the negatives. It is disappointing that I cannot pass it over the grass to pick up sticks or stray debris. It will vacuums up the leaves but leaves behind twigs and sticks. It is nice that there are two wheel positions, but adjusting them is a hassle since you have to unscrew them and retighten them. Overall, I see myself continuing to use this, it will just be an adjustment from the more powerful gas version I used to use. EVEN STILL, it is definitely worth the loss of piwer to not feel sore after hauling around the heavier version.

I like the convenience of battery power and the capability to use the vacuum directly into the debris without having to blow the dirt first. Pros: 1. Equipped with 2 batteries totalling at 48V which gives you plenty of time @40 mins runtime. Charging time is close to 2 hours. 2. Excellent vacuuming power with ability to use turbo features to get an extra power when needed. 3. Large basket to collect all debris. 4. Excellent mulch performance. Turn small to large debris into dusty particles that can be pour out directly to flower bed to use as fertilizer. Cons: 1. The front wheel has 2 height adjustment option but need to be manually adjusted by screwing and unscrewing the wheel. The ideal way is to have a locking mechanism for easy adjustment and preferably more adjustment stages. 2. The basket locked lever a bit stiff to push because only made of hard plastic. I have some concern on the longevity due to this issue. Perhaps using spring locking type would be much easier to handle. 3. Machine will briefly stop when detect a bump or when lift. This function makes vacuuming not ideal for eneven surface. Works better on hard surface such as concrete. Other reason not to use the vacuum over the lawn because of the plastic wheel wasn’t easy to navigate on the grass.

It is a cute little machine that does a great job in removing the leaves and debris from my yard. It is very powerful and easy to use. It's nice to know I won't have to do all of the work by hand anymore. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set up is so easy! Pretty much all you have to do is pull this out of the box, unfold handle, charge batteries overnight and you are ready to go! Can not be used on grass but is ideal for my driveway, sidewalks & patio. It vacuums up the leaves (no branches or sticks) and mulches it and deposits into the attached bag. All I had to do was unzip the bag & empty!! I will be using the mulch to cover my garden beds for the winter and the mulch will break down into the soil nicely. It could use a wider area to vacuum but then it wouldn't store in the garage as nicely as it does.

With this tool, I am able to do twice as much work in half the amount of time compared to what I was doing prior. It is perfect to help create the garden and to keep the surrounding area neat and clean. I am amazed at the power it has from the batteries. Also it has a 10 gallon bag to hold the debris. That is a lot of capacity. I will definitely recommend this to all of my friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this deeper on my back deck after a bad storm left some leaves and debris just because I wanted to try it out. The suction was great and it did the job. I also used it to clean up some mulch on my sidewalk that our dog had kicked out. I’m anxious to see how it does when the leaves fall. I do wish the battery lasted longer than approximately 20 minutes. It also seemed as though the sweeper would shut off on uneven surfaces so I’m not sure it will work well in my yard. Great for the outdoor rugs and patio though.

There's a handle to to carry the bag when it's full and doubles for picking the whole machine up. There's also a chain on the bottom to keep static electricity away. The battery cover has a magnet to keep it closed. There is a platform under the bag to keep it in place when it gets full. The pick up of the grass and leaves is great. The only thing I can say bad is it's to small for my one acre lot. But this thing is a good product for small lawns.

Run time is around 20 minutes, also the handle folds down for easy storage. I highly recommend if you enjoy working in your yard and making your own mulch.

For years I've been raking my entire yard and then bagging them. I no longer have to do that! This machine is saving me hours of work and back pain. It is very lightweight and easy to use. No assembly was needed and I love that it has an automatic shut off if the machine is lifted or tilted. The batteries were easy to charge and install also. The handle folds for easier storage and the machine itself is small. All around wonderful product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pleasantly surprised with this vacuum. First of all, I have a heavy duty garden vacuum and shredder (both run on gas). But they are starting to feel too heavy and hard to start. So for smaller jobs and day to day maintenance I wanted something lighter and easy to use. Was torn between cordless and corded. Got cordless and boy, am I happy. This vacuum is light, maneuvers easily, starts well and works like a champ. Upon arrival assembly came down to just screwing the wheels on. By the way, there are two positions for the wheels and I really wish you could change them with a lever. As it is now, you have to unscrew them to lower the vac. Not a major issue, just an annoyance, but I can live with this. The vac is more powerful than I anticipated and the charge lasts longer than I thought it would. I vacuumed for over half an hour (did everything that needed doing) and it still was running well; so I am not exactly sure how long it will work, but seems sufficient for us. The only thing I do not like all that much is the release on the bag. Feels clunky and I think it might break first. It is possible to empty the bag without taking it off the vacuum and I think this is what I will do. The leaf mulch produced is not uniform, but of very decent quality, so I am happy about it. We have A LOT of groundcovers and it is always a challenge to clear out tree leaves from them. Even gentle raking damages the plants. Well, this thing works extremely well! Picks up leaves and twigs, does no damage whatsoever. For me, it is worth getting it for this task alone. I tried it on concrete walkways, on lawn and over groundcovers. Works very well on all three surfaces. On concrete it is best to either put the wheels on the low setting or frequently use turbo button. All in all, like this gadget very much. It is by no means heavy duty, so if you need to do a lot of clearing and shredding, this one is not for you. However, if you have an established garden and are looking for day to day maintenance - this will do great. I am also looking forward to using it for autumn clean-up, I think it will be wonderful! One of the biggest pluses for me is that you do not need to pour in gas, there are no extension cords to run, no hassle at all! Just take it (and it is wonderfully light) and start cleaning. Simply wonderful!

There is an attachable bag to gather the mulch. I can also vacuum up small debris that maybe in the yard with the system because the air flow is strong enough to do so. I’m able to adjust the handle and also fold down the device in a compact size so it can be stored. There are two 24-Volt 4.0 Ah batteries that provides up to 22 minutes of rechargeable runtime with this kit.

He is very happy with it. It was easy to put together and comes with a charge so you can use it right out of the box. He used it on the driveway, patio, his garage, and on the grass. He was pocking up all the leaves, dirt, dust twigs. It gas several settings and you simply just push it and it cleans up everything. He couldn't have been more happier.
