there aren't alot of vit c complex choices but this is a good one. regular, synthetic ascorbic acid and ascorbate denature the ceruloplasmin, copper transport protein and allow copper to leach out. unbound copper like iron and fluoride can be very reactive causing ros. the vit c complex from food and/or fermentation contains 2 bound copper atoms per complex molecule. bioavailable copper is very important for iron regulation and many enzymes.

I take a lot of vitamins and have been doing so for over 30 years. I estimate about 90 pills a day. I used to buy most of my vitamins from a Swanson competitor but in recent years that competitor has drastically cut down their inventory and availability to the point where I started buying much more from Swanson. Since that switch, I have noticed an uptick of diarrhea and I think I've pinpointed it to this particular Swanson product- B-50 capsules. I don't know if it's because of Swanson's formula or the fact that the product comes in capsules instead of caplets, but if I take more than 1 of these per day, I notice drastic changes in the form of diarrhea. The aforementioned competitor sells their B-50 in the form of caplets (when it's available from them) and that seems to be the reason that I used to be able to take 4 of those per day in 4 divided doses (along with all the other supplements I usually take) without suffering from diarrhea. It could just be that Swanson's formula may be actually more potent than the competitor's but that doesn't help if I want to keep high blood levels of the product all day long by taking 4 per day. If you only intend to take 1 per day, Swanson's may be for you but beware if you intend to take more.

The Swanson Balance B-50 Complex 250 Caps has a slight taste and unpleasant smell and makes the urine very yellow. Haven't been taking it long enough to know if has the effects I need. I Really wanted small tablets with no taste or smell.

A good strong B complex formula supplement to keep you going. It could use the addition of Vitamin C to make it even better. The price is quite reasonable also.

This is a good B-50 complex. I wish that Swanson would jack up the Folic Acid and Biotin, they are just a tad above the RDA, and the Choline is at 9% according to the label; although the Biotin and Choline are both at 50 mg; so I suppose that validates the "50" in the product name. Still, those are both important enough to substantially increase (like twenty times over) and as B-complex vitamins go, Swanson is right up there with the best of them Overall, this is a good B-50 complex and I'm sticking with it.

I have been using the product for a few years, and its quality is high while price is low. In addition I find it convenient that I need to buy it only once in 8 months.
