Q: Is this frequently used as a pie crust? I am looking to make a pie and if this works I might have to make a few pies.

A: Sweet Loren’s makes a pie crust. Pie crust and puff pastry are completely different in texture and thickness. I personally would not use puff pastry crust for pie crust. It would alter the taste of your pie as well.

A: At this time, our Puff Pastry is not Certified Kosher. With that being said, third party certifications are extremely important to us to make sure you know our claims surrounding Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Kosher, and more are verified and validated. That being said, they do take quite some time to become official and ready for packaging. By the way, the dough is very airy and easy to bake. I baked the cakes exactly according to the instructions on the box and made the cream. The custard at first tasted sooooo similar to regular thick condensed milk, it turned out to be a not-so-sweet cream, very pleasant, so creamy, I was ready to just eat it without the top layer. It is thick, does not spread over the edges of the spoon. The top layer in the form of crumbs perfectly complements the bottom one, as if bringing it down from heaven to earth, but still holding it somewhere in zero gravity...♥ I really love this dessert with unsweetened tea or coffee

The dough is manageable but when baked it releases a lot of fat like oil, it takes longer to cook and the flavor is not very pleasant, but they can be prepared easily.

This is a gluten free product and those can always be questionable on consistency. I felt like the color barely changed from the original dough color unless you really went past the cook time and then at that time you are burning the item. Taste wise it tastes kind of doughy and not really flaky. I cooked it for an extra few minutes to see if I can get it crisp but I didn’t think it would with the jam I used. The strawberry jam was better but the ube kinda kept the pastry kinda soggy. So overall I have to say I wouldn’t use it again unless I wanted to test it out with different things for the inside. Maybe chocolate chips?

It is very somewhat easy to work with, I struggle a first bit and wasted a bit of product but after getting into shaping it's not that bad. I was able to make flaky pastry with sliced almond. The dough tastes great and 7/10 closed to gluten pastry texture. You can also just cut them, twist, and bake then add sugar in the end. I will purchase again this dough and try out.

I love baking and making sweet treats with puff pastry so was very excited to try this new brand. It was easy enough to manipulate the dough and make my creations, but the final result was a little disappointing. The pastries were not flaky and crisp like previous iterations of my recipe. I hadn’t changed anything else, but the puff pastry itself. Some parts of the pastry were dry and thick. They didn’t have the usual melt in your mouth feel. While I think the puff pastry was well packaged and was fresh, the taste and texture were lacking. I was also surprised that the price was almost 3x what I usually find in stores. For that price, I would expect higher quality and better results. The final product wasn’t quite what I expected with the dough. Shaping the dough wasn’t a problem at all and the tarts looked beautiful. However, after they had been in the oven, they looked great, but tasted like cardboard and felt like it too. Not a huge fan and probably would not purchase again.
