Q: Is this frequently used as a pie crust? I am looking to make a pie and if this works I might have to make a few pies.
A: Sweet Loren’s makes a pie crust. Pie crust and puff pastry are completely different in texture and thickness. I personally would not use puff pastry crust for pie crust. It would alter the taste of your pie as well.
submitted byCy - 1 year agoA: Hi there! You can certainly use our Puff Pastry as a pie crust. We recommend scoring and pre-baking the Puff Pastry for a few minutes to ensure that the pastry fully bakes through. The Puff Pastry makes an incredible pie-topper for fun designs & a flaky bite!

Q: Can you make pop tarts with these? If so, how would you go about getting the best results for flakiness? My daughter can't have egg so I don't know what a substitute for an egg wash would be.??
A: Hi there! Thanks for asking! Yes, our community loves making pop tarts with our puff pastry! If you can't use egg, we recommend a milk wash with a milk of your choice, whether that's dairy or non-dairy. This will help promote browning as an egg wash would! If you have more questions, email us at hello@sweetlorens.com !
