    Worked great for trip to Japan

    gI bought this to supplement our carry-on luggage for a two-week trip to Japan. The suitcase held up great. I appreciated the combination lock that secured the main zipper clasps. The suitcase rolled well and showed no wear, torn fabric, or damaged zippers after the trip.

    Smells bad - not off gassing

    It smells like someone burned the inside of the case. It’s only the carry on size. If you want your clothes smelling like a fire pit, be careful. It’s not off gassing plastic smell American tourist has the same issue.

    Relaible Carry On and More

    I bought this suitcase in 2010 from Target and it’s so well made and has been so loved. In July 2025, one of the wheels broke (the soft covering over the plastic wheel broke apart but it still rolls!). The bag itself is still in AMAZING shape after all these years. The fabric is phenomenal and really takes a beating, the extend option is great, it holds so much but yet is still perfect as a carry on. I love that it has a handle on the top, side, and bottom for easy and easy quick lifting. It rolls smoothly and is quiet. If you’re looking for a soft shell instead of hard shell, look no further!

    Functional Luggage, terrible warranty

    I bought this SwissGear luggage thinking it would be a reliable long-term investment, especially with the advertised 10-year warranty. As far as the bag itself goes—it's decent. Functional, fairly durable, and does the job for basic travel needs. But the moment you actually need support, the whole experience falls apart. The warranty is essentially a gimmick. There's no real support. I submitted a warranty claim and waited over 15 business days for a reply—only to be asked for one piece of information. Once I sent that, it was another long wait for a follow-up. This process repeated multiple times, with each response taking weeks and each request for information trickling in one at a time. It's clearly a deliberate tactic to delay and frustrate customers. It feels like they’re doing everything possible to avoid honoring their warranty. The representatives are unhelpful, and the entire process is designed to wear you down. If you’re buying this luggage because of the warranty promise—don’t. It’s misleading at best, and worthless at worst.
