Q: How do I measure the weight of a container and then the weight of the food in the container?
A: An your method sucks, just put container in and press tare for equal reset to zero. Then put your food in.
submitted bycap - 5 years agoA: Measure the empty containers weight first, then measure the food in the container. Subtract the weight of the empty container from the container with food
submitted byAn - 5 years agoA: Place the container on the scale. When the weight comes up, press TARE to reset the scale to zero, leave the container on the scale and add the food to get the food weight.

Q: I need to measure out 1.75 ounces, will this scale do that?
A: Convert the 1.75 ounces to grams with google (1.75 oz = 49.61167 g). This scale measures to the nearest whole gram. So measure out 50 grams. You'll be within 1 gram of the desired weight. Since 1 gram is smaller than 0.1 oz, this is more precise than measuring in oz with this particular scale. TL;DR convert oz to grams and measure in grams. This scale is more precise in grams than oz if you need the precision to be more fine than +/-0.1 ounces
submitted byBubba - 3 years agoA: Short answer, sort of. It only measures accurately to one decimal place in oz, and only whole grams, as it has no decimal places in that unit. However it measures accurately within three decimal places for kg. Meaning you can convert the 1.75 ounces amount to kg and get fairly close to what you need. 1.75 ounces falls some place between 0.049 and 0.050 kg that is as close as you can get with this scale. I used Google to convert the units, the scale is not perfect but its workable.

Q: Is this a good scale for mailing packages? I would like to weigh an item that is about 10" x 10", and weighs about 3 lbs. This item will cover the numbers. Will I be able to read the numbers when I lift the item up?
A: This scale does not have a hold feature so once an item is taken off of the scale to check the display, the reading will change. If you are looking for a scale to do this, we suggest looking for a Taylor scale that has a 'hold feature'. The Taylor Digital 11lb Glass Top Food Scale has a maximum weight capacity of 11 pounds (0.1oz) and also converts to 5 kilograms (0.001kg) and 5000 grams (1g). Minimum Weight: 0.2oz/ 1g. Please reach out if you have additional questions or need a recommendation! Thanks!
