A: Hi Shea - Great question. The uno fitter which holds the shade sits below the bulb and is secured in place by a screw thread. The shade doesn't clip onto the lightbulb itself. I hope this information helps. - Mark

Beautiful style for older traditional style lamps -but has Uno fitter.
I have two old lamps with threaded fitter, and this linen style shade is perfect for the older, traditional style lamps. My lamps have glass base from the 1940s and it would be perfect from art deco up to contemporary style lamps. But be warned: the other issue is I have an old threaded fitter, not a plastic UNO top, therefore it doesn't fit properly on the metal threaded top; it keeps tilting back and forth, cannot get it to be stable. So, much as I love the shade I now have to buy a threaded Uno fitter becuase it doesn't fit on the old metal threaded fitter. Just a warning to others who might also have a metal threaded fitter.

This lamp shade works, but I wish it sat higher on the lamp. When you look at the lamp, you can see the lightbulb at the top. It's almost taller than the shade. For reference I bought a small threshold brand lamp from Target to go with the shade.
